"I dined here last night, October 18th, with an early dinner reservation. The evening started off well, with delicious drinks and a very good calamari appetizer. I ordered the churaso special, another diner had the ribeye special, and the third diner chose the shrimp in pumpkin. However, the service was quite disorganized. The steaks were served without steak knives, which was definitely a necessity, as they were very chewy and overly salty. It turned into a bit of a fiasco when we were charged extra for dry martinis. Although the management did correct the bar bill, the overall experience was very disappointing."

"Today is my anniversary. My wife Angie wanted to go to M Italian in Chagrin Falls. I tried to talk her into trying Jojo’s, but she was adamant about going to M Italian. Our sitter was late so we had to cancel our reservation and the next time was too late. Angie was bummed. She started being bratty about picking another place. I chose Burntwood Tavern in Chagrin Falls . The thing is, I basically had to pass a Burntwood to go to the one in Chagrin Falls. I wanted the backdrop of the falls, to take a walk with my wife, and to have some drinks at M Bar by the fire pit. As we get to Burntwood and I pull up to valet, the valet seems busy with another car and was ignoring us. I pull back into the lot to see if I can pull into a spot, nothing. I pull back up and stop near valet. “How are you Sir?” Ignores me. Another car pulls up. He gives the car a ticket and drives it in front of me, goes back to valet stand. Now I’m getting out of the car walking to him. “Hello Sir?” He responds “Hey man, I don’t have anymore spots.” I’m almost in shock, hand shaking, getting in my car not knowing what to do. As I’m contemplating how to handle this, the valet tickets another car for parking. My wife says “I think I need to go in and say something.” I agree with her and she goes in. She later comes out with a manager, and is having a conversation. After a while, I get out of my car and join them. The manager asks me and my wife to let him make it up to us by giving us some good food and drinks in the back on the patio (in the back bro…anywhere but in the back smh. I explained to him what happened and told him that I’m no longer comfortable eating there. He assured me that “Sean (I believe that’s his name is one of our best employees on Fridays and Saturdays here at the valet. He treats our customers well.” I told him “Well, Sean seems to have issue with your Black customers.” What was so revealing is that he didn’t question or deny it, he almost nodded in agreement. He almost pleaded to give them a chance and let him show us a good time. I told him that we were leaving because I wouldn’t be able to forget that and I wouldn’t enjoy my anniversary. He told me he wasn’t gonna argue with me. I told him that it was no need to argue because I didn’t want to spend my money or my time at a place that hired people like Sean. I couldn’t accept the buyout. I honestly have never been more humiliated in my life. My biggest issue with the manager was that he never even talked to Sean. It was like he knew it happened and he was just trying to protect him. He didn’t ask Sean if it happened, he didn’t seem shocked by it. When you do that, you’re encouraging it. You can never get my money and neither can any business that you’re affiliated with get my money. I’m not asking anything from anyone reading this. I’m just sharing my experience. I will list the company and the restaurants under it in the comments for your information. This group owns most of the restaurants in downtown Chagrin Falls."

"So so glad to see a favorite of ours reopen after months of being closed for updates. We fell in love with The Reserve every bit as much as we did with Umami. Some familiar favorites hearken back to the previous concept but many dishes are new. All areserved as small plates which makes sharing easy and trying a lot of different things expected. As a couple, we were more thansatisfied with 6 plates, seems like a lot but trust me, it’s the right amount for hungry eaters. We tried the mushrooms,smashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, sashimi, hanger steak, and salmon and all were excellent. Standouts were the smashedpotatoes, sashimi, and the hanger steak. As far as ambiance goes, I can’t say enough. The romantic vibe is retained if notamplified this time around, by chill music, low lights, and the vibe of New York restaurant, tucked away to be discovered by thelucky few. The aesthetic design is lovely with a more earthy and rustic chic feel, upscale and authentic. It really does feel asthose you’re stepping into a self-contained world. Service was excellent as always. There is a warmth that emanates from theplace. Almost indescribable. With all the wonderful new restaurants cropping up in Chagrin Falls, The Reserve represents awholly unique experience. It’s intimate. It’s unlike any other restaurant in town. It’s an experience meant to becherished. It’s a must-go."

"We were early for our dinner reservation. The hostess told us our table wasn’t going to be ready for a while and suggested we sat at the bar. She wasn’t that welcoming. Once we sat down at the open bar, the food and the service by the wait staff madeup for the cold reception we got. The warm bread and dip was a delicious start to our meal. The green and beans was soflavorful with white beans, ground Italian sausage and escarole. For mains we had Lobster and Shrimp linguine and papardellewith bolognese. Both pasta dishes were tasty. Decent wine menu."
