The Trough - Piatti

Food is decent, sub par service. Came in on a Sunday, understandably busy, but our server seemed more interested in chatting with her coworkers about her random weekend hook ups, within ear shot of us, than doing her job. Thought we were going to a restaurant, not the high school hallway.

This restaurant offers amazing burgers and sandwiches. The split pea soup is exceptional, and the fries are delicious. The onion rings were quite ordinary and not a standout item. The outdoor seating area is beautiful, but it gets busy during lunch, so it's best to arrive early or be prepared to wait.

The steak fries at this restaurant are legendary! They’re loaded with generous chunks of steak, whole cloves of roasted garlic, hearty planks of deliciousness, and green chili peppers. There’s also a garlic aioli and an abundance of cheese! We come here just for these fries, but everything I’ve tried on the menu has been fantastic! Visualizza piatti

We discovered this place totally by accident--thought it was only a gas station in an out-of-the-way area of Missoula. What a pleasant surprise to find a unique market, sandwich shop and excellent restaurant. We had a delicious breakfast with great table service. They also serve lunch and dinner and offer hamburgers cooked-to-order which is exceptional. Highly recommend.

I had a wonderful dining experience at this charming restaurant. It's located near a small road and a pond, giving it a lovely atmosphere. On weekends, they offer $2 mimosas with fresh fruit, and both breakfast and lunch options are fantastic. The outdoor terrace seating is perfect for enjoying the sunshine. The staff is incredibly friendly, and I've been here over a dozen times without ever having a bad experience. Highly recommend!

I absolutely would have given this 5 stars, if only the waitress had actually been engaged and given better service. Sadie seemed uninterested and meek, and I'm saying this only because it was our second negative run-in with her. However, food was wonederful. Lovely salmon sandwich and wild rice soup, and nice wine selection. A lot of kids menu choices as well (not just chicken and fries). Will be going back, just hopefully with a new waitress! I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying both dinner and breakfast at The Trough, and both meals were outstanding! For dinner, I savored a perfectly cooked ribeye steak accompanied by a fresh salad, mashed potatoes, and vegetables. For breakfast, I opted for the veggie scramble, loaded with a variety of fresh vegetables and eggs cooked over easy. The breakfast potatoes were particularly delightful. On both occasions, the service was friendly and efficient. I look forward to returning to this convenient spot for its delicious food and excellent service!

Food was lovely. Atmosphere good. I would suggest establishment review the ADA rules as they pertain to Service Dogs and legal access to indoor seating areas in all establishments the public has access to. Which in this case means service dogs and their handlers have a legal right to sit anywhere the general public can in that establishment, and cannot be barred from sitting inside if there is available indoor seating. I personally didn't want to deal with educating in the moment and sitting outside did not affect my disabilities or overall health. But for some with service dogs, inside seating would be necessary for health and safety.

Disinterested service and poorly prepared food. Not greeted by any employees when I entered. Stood around looking lost for a few minutes before a hostess addressed me. Only got one check in from a waitress after my food was delivered, and it was towards the end of my meal. The ingredients for the skillet were chopped too coarsely. There were bite sized chunks of green peppers. Gets lower rating for falling so far short of expectations set by other reviews and word of mouth. The chairs in the dining room are a neat style, but I think too uncomfortable for public dining. My elderly parents probably wouldn't be able to enjoy themselves in these chairs. Visualizza piatti
