"I don’t usually eat out, but I’ve been moving and thinking about cooking has been to stressful. My coworker recommended this place since it’s on my new way home so I stopped in. Going in blind (not seeing reviews) I knew it was a 50/50 on being good or bad but I’m a betting person and I’m glad I am. The three tacos I got tasted amazing, I’m full but could keep eating. It felt pricey when I was paying but I’d much rather pay for something like this than go to a chain and get bad service for below average food. I will be going back and dragging any guests/dates I have in the future. "The line was an hour and a half. This was during the holiday season, so hopefully that 's not normal. I 'm not really a corn guy, but we got the corn for my kiddo and I tried it. That was the best corn I can remember having. Though it 's obvious they put mayo on it, it just seems so buttery. Seasoning was great. Got the sliced brisket taco and I guess I was supposed to ask for sauce. They supposedly make the sauce in-house so I wanted to try it but it was not to be, apparently. Brisket taco was good but the star of the meat show was the sliced brisket sandwich. The brisket was moist and the bread was excellent. Tons of brisket on it as well. My 10 year old wasn 't loving the long wait, but as soon as he bit into the sliced brisket sandwich his eyes rolled back and he said WORTH IT . I agree. Will be coming back, line or not. Great food here, just plan to be here for a while. Online ordering wasn 't available when we went, but give it a shot before you go. May be able to avoid the line."

"This restaurant was fantastic! I had the crispy and delicious Boudin balls, and they were a real treat. The crab cakes with their accompanying sauce were equally delightful. My husband ordered the Penne Pasta specialty, which he found to be amazing as well! The gumbo was rich and flavorful, just as a good gumbo should be. If I could rate this place, I’d give it a perfect 10. I’m looking forward to trying more dishes in the near future! The chefs were very friendly and welcoming too."

"Yesterday was the last straw. Not only was my order wrong yet again (pork instead of beef in my bowl), but the hostess — who seemed like she was having a rough week — actually took the menu from my hands just to check the ingredients in my soup. I'm usually very patient when it comes to dining out, but this was ridiculous. She snatched the only menu from me, went back to the kitchen three times, and asked multiple times if my soup was supposed to have only beef. In the end, it was still wrong. I considered going back to express my frustration, but I knew it wouldn’t make a difference, and I was worried that the staff would give me attitude — just like they had when they realized they mixed up my order. This place really needs to improve. I’ll give them one star for their location (though I won't be returning to eat here) and one star because the broth was actually hot and correct this time (a welcome change)."

"Our family ate here and there was a miscommunication with the cashier. My wife wanted the salad bar but he put club salad on her order instead. As my wife was trying to get her salad plate, the salad lady kept telling her you did not pay! You did not pay! My wife was confused, and looked toward the cashier 's direction for assistance but he was busy. My wife then said she paid but the salad lady started getting confrontational with her finger now pointing at wife telling her if you want to eat you need to pay! until my wife went back to the cashier. He sorted it out immediately. But as my wife went back to get her plate, this same lady right away was like where 's your receipt??? . I understand theft prevention but this was just too much and handled so poorly. Excuse me, I don 't see salad bar on your order. would more than suffice. Maybe my wife wasn 't clear or maybe the cashier made a mistake, whatever, it happens. It 's how this employee right away accused us of stealing that really left a bad taste in our mouths. 3 stars because we come here often and never had a negative experience other than this so not going to take away from other employees who provided good service. However, not sure we 'll be back."
