"with people like nancy oaks behind the restaurant I had very high expectations and had already been looking forward to the tosca cafe for some time as a special restaurant. I'm embarrassed now that I insisted to my friend that we go to her birthday party dinner last night. it was such an expensive and great disappointment that I plan to tell everyone I know to avoid tosca cafe. Apart from the fact that it was ridiculously expensive for what we got, it was moderate — at best. it was and was always a great place for a drink. so I will still stop for a martini before dinner and then one of the many other places in the neighbourhood for better, cheaper eating and wein."

Excellent Italian food that is comforting yet creative and flavorful. Hands down our favorite Italian place in the city. The cozy vibe, the high quality service, the delicious food 5 stars all around. We had the oysters, arugula salad, focaccia bread with marinated burrata, butternut squash pasta, pork belly (so good!! and chocolate desert. Thank you team Tosca, we’ll be back soon!

I guess the question is how much of a pass do you give every place because of the pandemic. My memory is that this place was once pretty good. It?s mediocre now. Not a pure tourist trap but verging on that. Not terrible but not good. I guess it revertedto a/the level of mediocrity it had before it had a big remake some years ago. I didn?t research the owner/chef changes.Something happened that?s not positive. Oh well. Maybe that?s what people want.
