"Our food finally arrived a full 75 minutes after we sat down, coinciding with a glucose monitor alarm alerting one of our diabetic family members of a low sugar level. We only had about 15 minutes to eat before having to leave, which was frustrating, especially since we are usually great fans of desserts and coffee. When it was time to settle the bill, we left a tip that reflected our experience—around 10%—due to the slow service and the urgency created by the diabetic issue. We added a brief note on the check that read, “Great food, but it took 75 minutes for it to arrive.” As I went to fetch the car for my 81-year-old mother, who struggles with mobility, the owner abruptly confronted my wife and mother regarding our feedback. He then came to the car to shout at me, leaving other customers unattended in the dining area. To Gino (the owner): 1) Your operations need improvement. You serve excellent food, but managing both the orders and the kitchen has created a bottleneck that results in poor service and potential health issues for your patrons. A 30-minute wait just to take our order is unacceptable. You may have lost out on 20-30% of potential earnings because we couldn't relax and enjoy the rest of our meal. With two-thirds of your tables empty, despite the quality of the food, this likely stems from slow service. 2) Feedback should be appreciated. Even with your extensive experience in the restaurant industry, constructive criticism can help you grow. I provided feedback discreetly on the bill, but your reaction has prompted me to write this review. It is unacceptable to yell at an elderly woman and her family. Most importantly, when you confronted us, you referred to us as "you people," which raised concerns about whether your perception of our ethnicity influenced the slow service. For the record, our family has a rich heritage of traditional recipes passed down through generations. It is essential to avoid using language that may be construed as discriminatory in your business. Regardless of someone's background—whether Asian, Italian, African American, Irish, Eastern European, etc.—everyone deserves to enjoy a meal out without feeling like poor service is intentional."

I ordered the mussels and beet salad, but unfortunately, they did not impress me. As a result, I wasn't even interested in trying any of the main courses. Overall, I would give the food a rating of 1, the service a 4, and the atmosphere a 3.

The entire experience was great. It is a family owned restaurant that puts their heart and sole into their food and care for their customers. The food was excellent including the homemade cherry Gelato. Ask for Gino when you get there. First time there and will be coming back in the future.

Had dinner with 2 friends. Everything about the restaurant was terrific. The food was wonderful and felt like I was in Italy. I am not so easy to please but I absolutely recommend this restaurant. It has quickly become one of our go-to places for a delicious meal when we want to take a break from cooking. I highly recommend this restaurant for dinner! The food is truly exceptional, deserving a perfect score. The service was equally impressive, making the overall experience very enjoyable. The atmosphere is welcoming, although it could use a little extra charm, which is why I rated it four out of five. Be sure to try the Baked Clams, Grilled Branzino, Chicken Marsala, and Zucchini Fritti — these dishes are must-haves! Overall, it's a fantastic place to dine!

Down from Boston for the weekend to visit the old neighborhood and family. Tried this restaurant for the first time. Upon entering we were greeted by the owners Gino and Maria who were very friendly and made you feel right at home Restaurant has a very relaxed, with a comfortable atmosphere like we were in a Trattoria in Italy Food was absolutely wonderful and service was impeccable. This will now be our go to Italian restaurant anytime we come back to NY to visit. What a charming place for a lunch date! We stumbled upon Trullo D'Oro by chance, and it proved to be a real gem. The quiet dining room created an intimate ambiance, ideal for our outing. Our server was warm and attentive, providing prompt and friendly service. We both opted for pasta dishes, which were absolutely delicious and clearly made with care. While it may not have been an exceptional experience, Trullo D'Oro definitely exceeded our expectations and offered a beautiful setting for a lovely, laid-back lunch.
