This place had a fantastic atmosphere, but unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The food was disappointing and lacked any taste, and the water had an unpleasant flavor as well. Additionally, the lighting was quite poor; when I first walked in, it felt overly dark.

Filthy place with standing water on the floor. Never got to eat because the family just didn’t want to serve anything but alcohol. The owner literally walked out of the building when we walked in to avoid us and his daughter sent a patron out to tell us no food. Super weird interaction. If you're craving authentic soul food, this place is a must-visit. It's veteran-owned, and Uncle B is an incredibly friendly host. Some previous reviews might have been from those expecting fine dining, but this is a fantastic local spot we discovered while traveling from Fredericksburg to Culpepper. I can't really review the food because after 45 minutes, it never showed up and our server was nowhere to be found. I finally found her when I accidentally stuck my head in the filthy kitchen. I asked how much long our food would be and I got cussed out by some dude whom I'll assume is the owner. Just go to Popeyes up the road. Maybe I was treated like this because I'm the wrong race.
