"I’m so sick of negotiating with poorly trained hosts. I don’t want to convince you to seat us for drinks while you’re holding a vacuum. My friends just had dinner there and you acted like we were there too late til closing which was an HOUR from the time we arrived. We asked for a booth then you tried to seat us at the bar. I’ve worked in food service for over 20 years I know all the tactics. It was my first time in to this place. I had to direct the host to ask the manager for us to be seated at a booth. Two were open. We said “just drinks” but clearly she didn’t hear us bc the table was set anyways. The server was great and the drinks were well crafted with great mocktail options. The atmosphere was great. It’s important to equip young people with the proper knowledge and etiquette when working in fine dining."

One dish that I highly recommend is the 6oz Grilled Filet Mignon. It was cooked to perfection and simply delicious. I can't wait to come back and try more of their dishes.

Wonderful. I have no idea why they have bad reviews and it deferred me from eating there but now they will be a 'must ' every time we visit. The food and the service were wonderful!

we really enjoyed our first visit in verna. our favourite dishes were the lemon verena mustels and the lemon tart. honorable mention goes to the lobster chowder and the amish chicken. get the appetizers! they are fantastic delicious! our server cassie was excellent, and the atmosphere was beautiful! we're coming back!

Verbena is a must in Kansas City. It has amazing service, great staff, always smiling and attentive. The menu is ever changing with the seasons and the Ingrid isn't selection is thoughtful and has purpose. The drinks are fantastic and to end it perfectly, the desserts never disappoint! Probably one of the best dinner places in KC

Will be back for a full review! Came in with a group from work so we were limited to a pre-fixe menu, but still had an amazing pork chop. We were in a very nice back room that could accommodate parties likely up to 30. We had quite a few of the wait staff working with us and every one of them was outstanding. We stumbled upon this restaurant for our 10th anniversary dinner and are so glad we did. The decor was impeccable, making us feel like we were dining in a tastefully designed home. The staff and other patrons had a welcoming energy that made us feel like regulars. The ceviche was interesting and exciting, while the goat cheese with crostini was a comforting option that we would choose every time. The crostini had the perfect texture, not too soft or too crunchy. The shrimp cocktail and oysters were fresh and high quality. We can't wait to return to this wonderful establishment.

We chose Verbena for our daughter and future son-in-law's engagement and after-party. From our first visit to the end of our event, we were treated with kindness and professionalism. Anna helped us plan every detail, from a romantic dinner for the couple in a perfect booth, to the engagement on the bridge, and finally the after-party with our closest friends and family in a private room. Working with Anna was a delight, she made the process seamless and stress-free. The service and food were exceptional.
