Absolutely! I have no problem taking a weekend drive to any body of water, especially if it includes a great soulful seafood restaurant. It's always a guaranteed win!

Vernon’s is a staple in Conroe Texas. If you like good down home cooking then you need to try out Vernon’s. From the signature hush puppies with green relish to the catfish it is all wonderful. Very disappointed food catfish has slipped, used to be a very good place to bring the Family for great food and service. The last few times we have ate at Vernon`s it's been Not too Good we were hoping it was just a one-time deal. We won't be visiting for a while maybe to give them a chance to get back to where they once were.

This is my go to place for Fried Catfish. It is some of the best I have had. Plenty of side options to choose from. Their pickled green tomatoes and hushpuppies are amazing. You can even buy jars of the tomatoes which I have done on several occassions. Service is always great. It is usually a little too cold for me, but I just bring a light sweater and I am fine. Definitely a place to go for country cooking.

We 've been wanting to try this place for years and finally made time for Mother 's Day. The staff were pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The prices seemed fair for the large portions. The food was very good. The fried shrimp, country fries, tots, greenbeans, fried okra, and shrimp tacos all received great reviews at our table. The fried oysters, chicken fried steak, and froglegs were all considered okay . The frog legs could use a little more spice in the breading but they definitely aren 't bad.Most of us will return again to try more items on their menu. Visualizza piatti
