Vernon's Kuntry Katfish

In this area, this was a recommendation from friends. So we had to come by. It was good! Service was great. Clean place. The food was at the top. We even have Dessert!

This place is never a disappointment. Food is always fresh. The service is great. I live in Spring Branch, approximately 45 minutes away, totally worth the drive. Go!!

Shelby was our server and she was on a hurry. We had the baked catfish and the fried catfish plate. The food was incredible and can't wait to return. Go to favorite places when you go to the lake.

THEY HAVE THE BEST TASTING WATER!! I drank 2 glasses of it. The staff is very friendly. All the food except 1 item was delicious, they brought me Mac and cheese that was cold, it had no warmth to it. My favorite was the fried scallops.

Wow! This place is fantastic! Every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. The fish, shrimp, sweet potato fries, coleslaw, hush puppies, mac and cheese, and green tomato relish were all exceptional. The service was great too! First time here…a lot of cars in the parking lot, walked in and got on the list, about 10 mins later I was sipping my water. Took a few minutes to read over the menu and look at what people were having and decided on Grilled catfish, mashed potatoes, and salad. I did not wait long for the salad and as soon as I was done with that, the meal arrived piping hot! Very good meal and the price was decent. Bathroom was just cleaned so I scored. Second time to visit Vernon's, both occasions were local friends that wanted to go, and I haven't been disappointed yet. It's definitely a local hot spot so try to get there early but we only waited 20 minutes for a table at noon on a Friday. The first visit I tried the shrimp po-boy and it was awesome. This time I tried the chicken fried chicken and all I can say is wow, what a meal! Service is always super friendly with those hometown country vibes. Bring your manners and appetite for the best experience. Hushpuppies are a must try!

We've been wanting to try this restaurant for years and finally visited for Mother's Day. The staff were pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The prices seemed reasonable given the generous portions. The food was very good overall, with the fried shrimp, fries, coleslaw, green beans, fried okra, and shrimp tacos all receiving rave reviews from our table. The fried oysters, chicken fried steak, and frog legs were decent but could be improved. The frog legs could benefit from a bit more seasoning in the breading, but they weren't bad at all.
