A bit pricey but really good food and atmosphere. Great spot for a fancy date night.

We all loved it!!! Have always wanted to try A Cena as we loved Assagio years ago. It was worth the wait!!!

Our party of 5 had a wonderful meal there once again. The portions have grown smaller as so many restaurants have since covid days but the food is great wait staff is stellar.

I thought it was pricy in the menu, but couldn't complain if I had the meal. I would definitely try other menus next time. Above all, we loved bread and antipasta. They don't like the main course, but they were the best in class.

I can't stop thinking about the amazing dishes we had! We started with calamari and a charcuterie board, which were both fantastic. Then we moved on to a dish featuring guanciale and eggplant parmesan, and finished with a delicious steak. The drinks were strong, the service was impeccable, and I can’t wait to come back for more! The food was absolutely incredible! My husband and I dined here for the first time and couldn’t have been more pleased. We began our meal with a burrata appetizer, followed by the handmade corn lobster ravioli and the special albacore tuna. The atmosphere was both cozy and lively, making us feel as though we were far away from Portland. We are already looking forward to returning with friends and family. Despite the busy restaurant, we were seated and served in just 1 hour and 15 minutes. Our server, Katherine, was fantastic—extremely knowledgeable about the menu and offered great wine suggestions as well!

Fabulous! We dropped in without a reservation and were thrilled to be seated. The menu has many unexpected choices. This is not run-of-the-mill Italian. We enjoyed our experience so much we went again two days later. The server recognized us and remembered our beverage preferences. The second visit was even better! The owner unobtrusively circulates in the dining room occasionally delivering bread to a table or taking a drink order. Did I mention the food? I can't do justice with words. Three of us, two meals: we sampled six different dishes and each one was our favorite. The lamb was particularly good. I recommend ordering the Al Forno which turns the chef loose to create amazing. a Cena is our favorite restaurant in Portland hands down. The atmosphere is that of an authentic Italian dining experience. It’s an intimate space with beautiful decor. The staff are talented and knowledgeable in both the food selections and the wine pairings. Our ongoing experience has been that we can throw out what we are craving for wine that evening and our server will always give us just what we are looking for. Now, the food. Oh. My. Gosh. It’s unmatched! To start, we like to enjoy the burrata. It’s wonderfully chilled with the proper amount of seasoning and oil melts in your mouth.
