"The best sushi value in Seattle. The perfect local casual spot. The nigiri and sashimi quality is excellent! Love their specialty rolls as well but Aoki really shines in its simplicity, I recommend just getting your favorite fish and just going to town. Solid miso, lovely bento. My partner and I have gotten takeout here about once a week for the last year, I just took my first photo of the food yesterday! I can never wait long enough before I eat to get a pic.The new owner has really stepped it up as well, with the previous owner the hot food was sometimes hit or miss but I haven’t had a single issue since they’ve arrived. It’s super cute inside now as well. All of the staff are lovely and provide such wonderful service, I always feel welcome and cared for.Pictured: Sake Nigiri, Maguro Nigiri, and salmon skin maki."

Delicious specialty rolls, sashimi, and nigri. I've never understood how fish could melt in your mouth until I ate here. The bento box California roll was underwhelming, but everything else was really great and worth the price.

This was the first time we've had sushi in Seattle. We come from Denver and thought moving from a landlocked state to the coast would really improve the quality of the sushi but we were mistaken. The food was meh at best and the rolls were poorly crafted.

The sushi here is consistently excellent. I particularly enjoy the agedashi tofu. The hamachi sashimi is also fantastic. I ordered gyoza and miso soup, while my wife had a sunomono, and we both loved everything. The food is always delicious, and the service is outstanding. I've been a fan of this restaurant for many years. View menu

I am extremely pleased with this place. I initially had my doubts about the "grill" aspect, thinking it might not be authentic. However, the ambiance is fantastic—while sports were playing on one side, they also had Studio Ghibli films showing on the other. The sushi was incredible and very affordable. I believe this will be our new go-to sushi spot!

As for the Kimono Maki, I found that the jalapeño overpowered the flavor of the roll, so I decided to remove it. This isn’t a criticism of the restaurant or the chefs—just a personal preference. Once I took out the pepper, the roll was quite tasty. The salmon belly was, without a doubt, my favorite dish. The torch searing added a nice smoky flavor and helped melt the fat in the fish. I wish I had ordered more of this instead of my other items. On a different note about the restaurant: the staff was friendly and the ambiance was pleasant. However, I had to keep my jacket on the entire time because the AC was blasting in the back room. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but I would worr...
