"The owners of Bari restaurant in Overton Square must be out of their minds. Last Friday night, my party of 4 arrived at the restaurant at 7:10pm, ate dinner, and had a bottle of wine, desert and coffee. The food was decent, but it took forever for them to bring the main course to the table. They brought the bill; I filled out the receipt (w/ 20% tip) and handed it to the waiter who promptly informed me that he would appreciate it if we would vacate the table as someone was waiting. By this time it is 9:30pm. I was insulted, as it was quite obvious that we were going to leave when we finished our coffee. The floor manager told us that they have a 2 hour limit on dining at their restruant when they have another reservation turnover on that specific table. We were having a good dining experience, and then they totally screwed it up in the last 5 minutes after I had already left a nice tip. To make matters worse, I spoke to the owner the next day, and she defended this indefensible policy."

I just had my first meal at Bari, despite hearing about it from friends for years. It was an exceptional dinner and completely exceeded my expectations. The charming, cozy atmosphere created the ideal setting for a romantic date. Our server was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, offering fantastic recommendations and being very patient with my indecisiveness. The scallops and grilled mushrooms were definitely the right choices, and the strawberry tart truly astonished me—who would have expected that! I will definitely return. Keep up the great work!

We anticipated our visit to Bari for weeks. What a disappointment. The special tuna antipasta was fishy. The food came out luke warm. The side dishes were overpriced and undercooked. And the service did not merit the pre-added gratuity. We seldom saw our waiter. Twice he needed to be reminded about our drink order. And when we almost had finished our meal, he finally brought some bread. The Hake was plated by an amateur. But the bronzino was tender but lacked the promised flavor. What the menu promised, the chef failed to deliver. And for these prices we expected delivery.

Bari is by far the best example of true Italian food I have found. It 's different and it opens you up to cuisine that you may not normally classify as 'Italian '. I loved the fact that I was able to enjoy each course with time in between and I wasn 't being rushed to eat my meal. Our waiter was very pleasant and was more than willing to answer any questions I had. Bari asks that you don 't defer from their menu, that you let them make the meal their way and I would suggest that also. How else would you be able to experience it the way you are supposed to?? I would definitely recommend this establishment to my friends and whoever will listen. Five stars in my book!! View menu

Bari is, without a doubt, the best representation of authentic Italian cuisine I've come across. It's unique and introduces you to flavors that you might not typically associate with 'Italian' food. I appreciated that I could savor each course with ample time in between, without feeling rushed to finish my meal. Our waiter was friendly and more than happy to answer any questions I had. Bari encourages guests not to stray from their menu and to let them prepare the meal in their own style, and I wholeheartedly agree with this approach. After all, how can you fully experience the food as it was intended? I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and anyone who will listen. Fiv...

I've been dining at Bari for five years now, and I absolutely love it. It truly is the only place in town that offers authentic Italian cuisine, just like you would experience in Italy, which is why some people may not appreciate it. I particularly enjoy their extensive selection of Italian cheeses and the wine list is excellent. As someone who prioritizes healthy eating, Bari is perfect for me because they offer a variety of nutritious options, including rapini, fava beans, and dandelion greens. The salads are always packed with flavor, and the seafood is consistently fresh and delicious. Dining there once a week, I find the wait staff to be very knowledgeable and friendly. The food is alwa...

It was an awful experience!!! It was my birthday (and we found a babysitter too. We were both very excited about going out (once in a while . Anyway first of all, it was so pricey and food was not good at all. We ordered black mussels as an appetizers, it was cooked too long and was not juicy at all. I ordered swordfish so did my husband. It was a little plate but it is not one of those delicious little plates... It was not even cooked well yet fish was raw on the middle. 4 really thin sliced eggplant was 3 dollars! It was not good at all! Anyway service was very poor. We were there with another couple of friends. We asked the server the split the bill she gave us a very bad look and have an... View menu

"Just to start this out as honestly as i can, we had just gotten out of a 6+ hour long drive so we were hungry and sorta didn't care about what to get just knew we wanted food! With that being said this food was amazing, we both got the Veggie Burrito and a fountain drink. Food didn't take long to get to us, we were seated upstairs, which on its own is a completely different experience that we weren't expecting, you walk into a small entrance where you can see the cooks making the orders and you place your order at the counter, not gonna lie the downstairs isn't much to look at but I do appreciate being able to see the cooks, not for security or anything, just because you don't see that too often. After you make your order you're walked upstairs and seated in this very nice large room with many tables chairs and even a bar! We came towards the middle of the day so we didn't experience any drinks unfortunately. Beautiful space, great design and lots of natural lighting, the atmosphere was very nice and refreshing. The food, now the food was super surprising not to say that we're expecting it to be bad but in my experience anything Veggie or vegetarian usually has a tendency of being a bit bland and or being filled with lettuce where the meat would've been, which is sad because that means many places rely heavily on meat to bring the flavor, but our burritos were so delicious! The burritos had lots of flavor with nothing overpowering anything but instead everything complimenting everything else rather well, they had actually used potatoes in the burritos as the protein replacement and i was very much elated at that, because let's be honest you can do so much with potatoes and they absolutely paired well in the burrito, I personally don't like spicy anything so when I saw jalapeños I was a bit worried, but they're actually pickled jalapeños with other vegetables and they added such a fresh taste and nice bite I was very much pleasantly surprised. The dish was served with beans and rice both of which were also delicious nothing too much to say about them but very good sides. I definitely recommend this place, prices are actually low for food this good! Definitely stop by and try!"
