"Really great lowkey spot a few blocks away from a friend that we were visiting. We sat outside for a few beers, and our server was sweet very fast. To start we shared the really tasty Pear Goat Cheese salad. Pears were sweet and balanced so nicely with the slightly bitter arugula, goat cheese and tangy lemony dressing. Then we ordered two pizzas, the White Canvas the Funghi, which were tasty fresh out of the brick oven. I enjoyed both but think I'd try others in the future. The real star of the meal for me were the Ricotta meatballs so fluffy and most and well flavored. If I was in the area I'd come back just for them!"

Nice atmosphere cozy with the open oven. Friendly service, easy street parking, at least on a Sunday, and very good pizzas and salads.

Last Saturday we had an amazing pizza and shared a small Caesar salad. We loved the ambiance and vibe. The food was great and so was the service. We will be dining there again tonight. Can't wait! View menu

Living outside of Chicago, where deep dish pizza is king, we tried a Brooklyn thin crust brick oven pizza. We were amazed at the freshness, and taste of their pizza. As a bonus, we even parked our car right out front. We highly recommend Battle Hill Tavern.

The food was fantastic! We started with the meatballs and the spinach and artichoke dip, which, just so you know, wasn't spicy despite having chipotle in it—it added a nice tang. Thanks to the bartender for the clarification! We also enjoyed some amazing drinks, particularly the sweet tea lemonade, which had the perfect amount of vodka. For our main course, we had a pizza half topped with mushrooms and half with pepperoni. The flavors were great, and you could really taste the garlic, which we loved. The ambiance was cozy, especially with the brick oven in the back. We will definitely be coming back!

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."
