"I had the pleasure of experiencing their omakase course B, and I can confidently say that the fish was remarkably fresh and of excellent quality. The course included a soup, three appetizers (though we ended up receiving four?), a small steak, a selection of sushi and sashimi, and a dessert of our choice. My personal favorites were the monkfish appetizer, red snapper, and shrimp (both the sushi and the deep-fried head!). The matcha tiramisu was also a standout; everything was delicious. The only downside was that it would have been nice if they had provided more information about the different pieces of sushi and sashimi. Other than that, the service was exceptional—very friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The restaurant itself is quite small, so I recommend making a reservation, especially during dinner time!"

Just want to know why enforce a time limit when the place is half empty. We wanted to order more food and enjoy a little more. Asked if they were closing the kitchen and the Lady manager just said time limit. Loss of revenue and loss of customers. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2 View menu

I find their tone and service rude they show zero desire to be welcoming. I gave them many chances and have come in regularly for awhile yet they stated we are busy, no room when there were clearly spaces at the bar. I am not going back. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100

I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant for dinner, and it was truly an exceptional experience. The food was outstanding, receiving a flawless five stars for its quality and flavor. The service was just as impressive, with attentive and friendly staff who made us feel welcome throughout our visit. The atmosphere was inviting and pleasant, although I would rate it slightly lower at four stars. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy a fantastic dinner!

The food here is outstanding and truly reflects authentic Japanese cuisine. You can really notice the difference in the slicing of the sashimi, the miso soup, and the selection of small side dishes compared to other restaurants. We ordered the regular sushi, Hire Katsu, and the spicy tuna salad, all of which were delicious. I was so impressed by the spicy tuna salad that I completely forgot to take a picture of it! The service was excellent too. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. View menu

Went for my first omakase sushi at Nakahara. First, small local location in the heart of Leonia. I'm told you definitely need a reservation, probably because of the length of time the meal takes with so many courses. With the omakase style the chef picks small dishes for your meal. I thought it changed from meal to meal depending on what the chef purchases for that day. At Nakahara it is a set omakase dinner, same samplings every time. The tuna appetizer was delicious. I did not enjoy the fried items. The sushi and sashimi were delicate. The diner portion ended with a beef dish that was tasty. Dessert was a choice of five very average selections. Overall it was good.

What caught me off guard was that no one offered an apology for the mishap. The staff appeared visibly uncomfortable and avoided making eye contact, opting to continue bringing more napkins instead of addressing the situation directly. By the end of our meal, the oldest server merely gestured to ask if we were ready for the check. Having worked in a sushi restaurant during college, I understand that servers can feel shy or flustered. However, when a hot liquid spills on a customer, professionalism and empathy should take precedence. This experience revealed the true nature of the restaurant, and despite its apparent popularity, I can no longer recommend it to others.
