"The food at this Chengdu Impression location is far and above that at the Wicker Park or Edgewater locations. Service was prompt and courteous despite being very busy when I was there. Parking can be a hassle since it's just off of Halsted Street and a bit of a hike from the nearest El Stops, but it's well worth it! I highly recommend the Twice Cooked Pork and the Sichuan Beef Noodle Soup. Beware, I was there when it was cold out and the constant flow of delivery drivers blew in the cold air and froze the whole restaurant. Not sure if the heat was off, but bring a sweater or be prepared to wear your winter coat to eat!"

The Chengdu dry chili dish is absolutely amazing. Once you try it, you'll know that you have to come back for more. View menu

The taste of dishes is okay but far from Chengdu flavor, especially, Fu Qi Fei Pian , not Chengdu flavor totally, should not add galic at all.

Great Sichuan or Szechuan cuisine. My friends took me there to try their fish soup. It was marvelous and they helped me given my gluten sensitivity.

I have visited this restaurant twice and have been consistently impressed with the quality of the food. The dishes are expertly spiced and cooked to perfection. I have tried the hot pot, pork bao, mapo tofu, and spinach, all of which I would highly recommend. View menu

My dining partner and I ordered the Chengdu hotpot soup, green beans, Chengdu dry chili chicken, Dan Dan noodles, and dumplings, all of which were amazing. We had so much leftovers that tasted just as good the next day! We can't wait to order the noodles, chicken, and green beans for takeout soon!

For the second week in a row, I ordered a dish with extra spicy levels at this restaurant. I specifically asked for it to be "very very sharp" to avoid any ambiguity about the level of spiciness I desired. Unfortunately, both times it was not as spicy as requested. It's disappointing because I made it clear in my special instructions. The food was good overall, but what is the point of giving special instructions if they are not followed?

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
