"I absolutely loved this sushi food truck! The food was incredibly fresh and delicious, I couldn't believe it came from a food truck. We tried the Seared Organic King Salmon, Spicy Tuna Lover Roll, and Hanalei Rainbow Roll, all of which were amazing. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The seating area consisted of picnic tables located conveniently across from Costco. They stay open late until 8pm, which is great for a food truck. The chef is originally from a well-known restaurant in Chicago, and I'm grateful they brought their talents to Kauai."

"We saved Hualani for one of our last dinners as we heard a lot of good things. We started with the Potstickers and the 5 spice flavor made it taste different and too pungent as it took over the dish. The onion soup lacked flavor. The filet mignon was good and cooked perfectly. The rib eye was not a good piece of meat. It was cooked to perfection however trying to cut through a heavily membranes piece of meat was difficult. The rest of the dish was satisfying. For dessert we had the chocolate lava cake with ice cream and it tasted like a warm Brownie. "

"Atmosphere was great , on beach , open air flow. But the food was mediocre at best. Salad bar looked like been sitting there all day. Appetizers look and tasted like frozen foods from Costco. Main entrée did not taste any better. Tables were dirty with hair on it , even the menus had stained spots on them. It’s to bad cause dukes is one of the childhood memories we have coming to the islands. An on the other islands it is very good. Hopefully dukes Kaua’i can step it up in the future. We will see if management can handle it , cause that’s where it starts, as the service otherwise was great."

"We agree with many of the other positive reviews. The restaurant is a gem not to be missed. Our fish was outstanding the preparation flawless. I had the Ahi two ways grilled and sushi preparation. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The hostess had a really tough job as 20 or so people showed up a 7 and she had to tell us our table would be awhile. This gave us an opportunity to explore the magnificent house."
