"So happy that Emma's has opened! I love good coffee, but really enjoy a top notch speciality coffee or smoothie sometimes and the opportunity to sit, relax, and enjoy a coffeehouse atmosphere. Emma's fulfills on all accounts. So far, I've only tried the pumpkin spice latte I'll definitely be back again to try other drinks. And oh yes, the price is perfect for these delectable items. "Today is Monday October 9th, was treated poorly by the shift manager my wife ordered waffles with strawberries they was soggy and syrupy on the menus they looked sliced and fresh but they are not not fresh and her hash browns was not cooked all the way. We told the waitress the hash browns are hard meaning under'cooked she took them back the cook took the crispy ones off and sent back cold/partially raw hash browns. We complained again my wife ordered something different the waitress took the hash browns back. We ate the bill came and they charged us for the horrible food we told them ain’t gonna pay for what we didn’t eat the manager said oh yes you will and you won’t be aloud back here either. As a privately owned business you should be willing to stand by your product and if the customer is not satisfied make them happy not disrespect them and embarrass them in front of a room full of people. Me and my wife know a lot of people in Huron county and the surrounding area and our word is our bond and a lot of people trust us so I suggest this shift manager gets dealt with cause if that was me at my job I would have been fired on the spot I will be using all forms of social media to spread the word of horrible food and horrible service. Do the right thing or women like your shift manager is gonna run people off with unprofessional behavior and poor customer service. "Rachel’s is a beautiful restaurant in quaint bad axe. The drinks were on point, the brussel sprouts were awesome, and the service was good. However, this restaurant presents itself as a finer dining establishment and the prices reflect that. But, the food did not rise to the occasion. The owner’s daughter was proud to defend the “hand cut” calamari that looked like French fries and seemed offended when I told her calamari doesn’t come in blocks, she called a steak. If it doesn’t look like it can swim in the ocean something is wrong and the texture reflected that. We had the white fish, salmon, and chicken and all of the protein was overcooked and under seasoned. The rice was not cooked that day. The creamy salmon soup was under seasoned, vegetables slightly undercooked, and the sauce was partially broken. The food is presented nicely, but does not live up to the prices being charged. At this price range your food needs to be on point and you can’t serve me stuff out of a bag and try to defend it as fresh. This place has a ton of potential. Hopefully the owners are listening. Until then, I will not return."

"My family and I moved to the bad axe area about a year ago and we've tried just about every restaurant in the area. Needless to say this is the first review I've felt compelled to write (good or bad). I heard from a few people that this place was not worth the money, however, this is a definite understatement. 1 out of the 5 entrees we had was descent, everything else was sub par at best. I ordered the steak sandwich that was supposed to be prepared with sliced sirloin steak, however, it was definitely roast beef (good, but definitely not a sliced sirloin steak as the menu described and most likely gordon food purchased). My wife ordered a filet medium rare and it came out after the rest of the food hit the table. It did not have any grill/searing marks on it as my mother in laws NY strip did, and tasted like the cook likely microwaved it (tough, not juicy, as a medium rare filet should be). My sons burger was terrible, appeared to be a pre-pattied burger not fresh, and my other son's chicken fingers were definitely a frozen brand, edible but nothing special. The steak fries the boys both received were inedible, they were definitely a store bought fry and I believe they were microwaved or not fried long enough because they were still cold in the middle. Our server was very nice, but not knowledgeable at all about the drink menu, she was 17 and could not make any drink recommendations. The atmosphere of this place is nice, but clearly there is no active management overseeing the operation. Service and food quality control are non-existent. I understand that all restaurants have off nights, but this place had major breakdowns on all aspects of their business. Definitely not a 4.2 restaurant as it states on Google reviews."
