"I find the crust to be overly tough, burnt, and quite inedible, which detracts significantly from the overall quality of this pizzeria. The only redeeming qualities are the impressive sauce, fresh basil, and flavorful tomatoes. However, I feel this place is overhyped. My fondest memory of Di Fara was watching Dom skillfully make those pizzas. The way he would pull them from the oven with his bare hands, drizzle oil with care, and use scissors to cut the basil—always with a half-hearted smile in response to gratitude—was truly special. Now, though, I can’t find a compelling reason to go back. My first visit to Di Fara was extraordinary—truly the height of pizza enjoyment. Unfortunately, since Dom's passing, the restaurant hasn't kept up that standard. Reports of struggling sister locations and one closure further support this feeling. At $32 for a pie, it feels overpriced. Additionally, the ultra-thin crust doesn’t satisfy my palate, as I have to eat three slices just to feel full. Personally, I think DaVinci or Lenny's provide better value for the money. It’s a shame Lenny's closed down. Overall, I would rate this place a 7.5/10."

The crusty on the regular pie was really doughy and soft.... felt like chewing bubble gum.

Well since the old man is gone everything went downhill at this joint. Used to be the best pizza in Brooklyn not anymore! $5 for a regular slice is 100% NOT WORTH it. They should just shut down. Horrible

I have had pizza in Italy, New Jersey and Connecticut, and I have to say, this style feels perfect to me. And not only that, but the staff and family was so welcoming. It really feels like you’re in a special place filled with lots of charm, character and history. Like a slice out of old New York itself!! View menu

I am not writing this review to tell you what to do with your hard-earned money. I am going to share my thoughts and you make your own decision if you would like to try this place or not. Top three cheese slice pizzas in NYC. Nothing else to say. However, if I could I would give two and a half stars to the square slice. It's okay but nothing special like the regular cheese slice.

The shop itself is a quaint, no-frills corner store—what I think of as a classic New York pizzeria. The taste is simply amazing to me. The sweet and tangy tomatoes, fresh cheese, and strong basil flavor come together beautifully on a crispy thin crust. While I’m not usually a fan of thin and crispy pizza, I genuinely enjoy this slice. I believe this is a must-try if you're in New York. Give it a chance, but just be cautious when it comes to parking! View menu

Nov 2023 3 years later. Still the best!!! Ordered a regular pie. And that chilli oil. Perfect!!! 10/10. I'm a fan. This place is not to be missed out. Nov 2020 Pizza was absolutely amazing. The ingredients are super super rich. So much cheese and sauce!! The best thing is the ‘chilli pepper with oil’ they give. Just a little drizzle of that oil on the slice and you reach heaven! It took them 50 minutes to make the pie and it was definitely worth the wait. Because of the wait, I was about to miss my Top of the Rock Vip reservation but somehow reached 5 minutes before closing. — Don’t make the same mistake I did. Just have it over there and don’t bring it home. It’s meant to enjoyed when it’s...

The pizza I had was a round pie with pepperoni, and it goes down as my new favorite NYC pizza. The slice I had had a gracious amount of parmesan and the perfect amount of fresh basil. The establishment is a no frills kinda place, but the staff were very kind and friendly in a NYC kind of way. I found the best way to offer and pay is online and pick up the pizza (or eat it there) when they tell you too... This saves you a long potential wait. Speaking of waiting, my sister visited a couple of years ago and waited 3 hours. Today I went and did what I recommended above and didn't wait at all... But be warned the place was not busy when I arrived which means I got lucky. My only real complaint w...

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."
