"We had lunch at the Elephant Sushi on Grove, and it was a delight! We had a selection of artisan pickles; salt, vinegar and miso cured to compare, followed by a collar of fish with a sweet, crusty marinade! My favourite was a sushi roll steamed at the table in a foil pocket! Flavour explosion! My friends loved the raw offerings, (not my personal thing) served with fascinating garnishes like saffron stamens, and truffle shavings! The cocktails were strong, tasty, and well balanced to complement the sushi. I nearly got kicked off my chair by the Asian pear cocktail, with a beautiful marigold garnish! We sat there for about an hour and a half, trying different things! Highly recommend their food!"

Really was expecting to be impressed. Unfortunately not the case. Mental note to not order again... 2/5 omasake 3.5/5 white roll

The interior decor is really charming. I liked my sushi, although I've had better elsewhere. The tuna balls were quite enjoyable and showcased a creative concept. View menu

A tiny amazing gem! Amazing service and outstanding food. The chefs are top class with unique and delicious sushi. The flaming sea bass was a blast and yummy. Yum yum yum!

I enjoyed Toro nigiri topped with sea salt, Negi Toro paired with uni and fresh rhizome, and sea bass garnished with shiso leaf and green onions. The torched walleye sashimi was a delight, as was the hamachi sashimi.

This is a really good , casual sushi spot conveniently located to the hotels in the Union Square area. Fish was really fresh and generously cut on the 2 sushi rolls I had. I'm a big eater, but I wasn't able to finish my rolls. I got the rainbow roll and the Chef Ochko roll. The rainbow roll was pretty much standard but very good. But the Chef Ochko roll was definitely my favorite. It was generously filled with really fresh real blue crab and topped with generously cut slices of tuna. I really wanted to try the truffle roll but was way too full. I'll definitely be back. View menu

Foods were amazingly delicious. Don't misjudge the location and size. Would come back for more. Arrived around 730pm on a Saturday. Place looks very small, probably can seat handful of party. 1-2 parties were already there. Got seated right away, and given complimentary rolls. They were good. Ordered the rainbow roll and toro uni roll. They came out relatively quickly. Rainbow, fish were fresh and nicely balanced, no need to dip. They also don't skimp out giving you gari. The toro uni were heavens. Uni were fresh and full-bodied. The rice texture was refreshing. It's topped with kizami wasabi, no need to dip in sauce or additional wasabi. They got the flavors and quality right.

As a Delivery Driver my first impressions with one of the Female Staff was sour and unprofessional. I came to this place pick up a delivery order. The doors were open, dine in was clearly closed, but all kitchen staff were working on orders. I asked for my delivery pick up, but I was told they were closed but that didnt make sense why. Instead of explaining why they are closed on a Saturday at 4pm in Broad Day, she gives an illegitimate and assumptive answer saying because we are closed at this time . Her attitude and vibe was facetious and unflattering. Im sure the food is good here but if it were up to me i wouldnt want to be served or waited by someone with such an attitude as hers.

"Earlier this year Salty 's was featured in one of the top 100 places to eat in the Bay Area in 2022, and after trying it a couple times, it 's easy to see why. Quality and flavor, great customer service, it checks all those boxes. I occasionally visit the 24 hour fitness on Van Ness, and Salty 's happens to be just few short blocks away which makes it perfect when I 'm looking for a post-workout sandwich. And for those that know me, I love me my sandwiches. On my latest visit, I decided to go with the 'Glorious B sandwich, which come with turkey, bacon, avocado, pepper jack, veggies, and garlic mayo. The blend of flavors and high quality of the turkey is no wonder it 's at the very top of the menu list. It 's one of those sandwiches, that you can bring to park and not need a ton of napkins to get through. It was well put together, with the ratio of all the ingredients matching well. Nothing overpowering, just sandwich perfection. The size of the sandwich I thought was the perfect size for my appetite. As I 've gotten older I can 't put down as much food as I used to, and after one-half I knew I could 've stopped eating, be content, saved the rest for later. But of course I ate the whole thing and nothing sounds better than taking a quick power nap right after. I love that their menu has so many different sandwich combinations, so definitely take time to check their menu before calling-in/walking-in to order because it 'll definitely save you some time. On my latest visit, I was in and out in 10 minutes. Definitely towards the top of my list of sandwiches in this part of town!"
