"Stay away! They are one block from me so I've dealt with them for years, but I am finally done. Everything in NYC is over priced but they are thieves! But even worse than that is the downright rude staff who do not even want to work. It is bad enough that just eggs on a roll is almost SIX DOLLARS (yes, almost $6 for just eggs on a roll), but the guy acts like asking him to make it is an imposition. Oh, and half the time they don't have actual rolls so they try to give you hero rolls and charge you $2 more for the same thing. Stay away, and/or walk the extra block to go to Al's deli"

Workers are repairing the food court during lunch. This is very unhygienic and the paint gets into the food! I wouldn't want to have my lunch with paint things … could be dangerous!

Essen is a large establishment with a huge variety of choices. Well kept and constantly a flow of traffic in and out. Mostly self self serve but staff is eager to answer your questions.

I purchased two orders of sushi and a Fanta pineapple soda on Thurs 9/21/23. The soda cap had a nasty body odor as it seem a worker stuck it up his rectum area. I will file a complaint with 311. View menu

Didn’t even get to try the food. Waited to order a sandwich for 20 minutes as the guys at the grill took random orders then after he takes my order he turns around and starts cutting boxes for the next 5 minutes so I just left.

This place is perfect. Prices, quality, variety, ample space and never crowded. You want to sit down, have a quick affordable meal while running through NY: do it. Across the street there’s a bagel place with a line longer than national debt, who has time for that? I got the same bagel for less, faster and on to the next thing of my day.
