"I never really leave reviews but since I had a situation that could cost you money and I can't get a return call I figured I'd let others be aware or at least get a response this way.Food, atmosphere, cleanliness, view was all fantastic. The problem we had was we were given validation and I noticed it showed expired. I brought it up to the server and she said that's okay because the parking kiosks don't use the dates so we would be good. Well that wasn't true as it charged me $18 to leave the parking lot and it said ticket expired. I tried contacting the restaurant and left voicemail but no response. I'd love a response from the restaurant, but for now be aware of the validation dates for parking. It matters and left a sour taste leaving,"

First of all the view is amazing. Located at the great InterContinental San Diego rooftop. Food is good quality. Service at the bar was slow and not at the level expected

Food was delicious, customer service was great. Drinks were 8/10. Rooftop dinner was exactly what we were looking for. Peaceful quiet and able to enjoy the nighttime view

The view is very pleasant. That oyster dish was very good. Their spaghetti I can do without but the bread is delicious. The drinks were great, and the customer service was wonderful. View menu

Decent italian options, but would probably not visit again in the future. Lackluster service at this restaurant and the food tends to be lacking taste and overpriced for the portion you receive.

Extremely over priced buffet food, rude and condescending servers that are basically just hotel staff, intentionally misleading event about the 4th of July. Avoid this place it’s just a trap for tourists.

Everything tasted delicious. This was definitely out of my comfort zone to try food like this. The service was amazing as well our server and also other servers made sure our drinks were never empty. The ambiance was dark and romantic especially inside with the view it was such an amazing experience with a live guitarist. Definitely recommend this speakeasy. View menu

This so called restaurant is a mistake. Starting with the entrance, hidden. The seating is awful. It will almost always be cold, even as you try to watch the sunset. Didn't like the food either. We were staying at the hotel...I didn't like the room and asked to see another. It was better, but the manager was clearly unhappy about my dissatisfaction. It was an unpleasant place to be. They have alot of learning to do.

I had high expectations after seeing so many positive experiences and lots of promotions for this spot. The views are great but the cocktails were okay and the food selection is slim. The aperol spritz was good but nothing exceptional and margarita italiano was pretty sweet. The octopus salami was a bit tough and underwhelming. I did enjoy the funghi flatbread but wouldn't come back for that. The veal tomahawk was over cooked and dry. Overall cool view but won't return

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
