"I had a couple of friends who flew in for the weekend to see the city. They were staying near the civic center and this restaurant had good reviews so I decided to make a reservation. Since it was the weekend it seemed like a reservation was not necessary. The place is not too big, around 20 tables. It was not crowded for dinner on a Saturday there was a couple (most probably tourists), a group of men having beers and watching the pre season football game (they actually provided a lively atmosphere), and a family. The walnut shrimp and chow fun were good; the mongolian beef had a lot of beef; spicy green beans was great too; and they also have brown rice in the menu. Service was fast. No complaints on the food, will eat there again."

The food was decent, and the atmosphere was a bit worn, but the service was outstanding—very friendly and accommodating. It may not be a memorable experience, but it's a nice spot to call home.

Kim Tar is our go-to spot for Chinese food. It's consistently good, and although the ambiance isn't particularly impressive, the atmosphere is welcoming, the service is excellent, and the food is better than average. View menu

Our local favorite for Chinese cuisine, Kim Tar, consistently delivers great food. While the atmosphere isn't anything remarkable, the friendly vibe and good service make it a pleasant dining experience. Overall, the food is above average.

Surprised ThIs place was on Open Table. Only restaurant In Neighborhood, we took a cab and felt stuck after cab left. We were only diners at 8 pm Sat night. Service great, but for SF, not a china town experience. Food undercooked in retrospect making one of us have to cxl rest of evenings plans.

The food was good, but it wasn’t spicy or salty. We ordered soup, and we were a bit disappointed that it wasn’t the first dish served. The soup included vegetables, some of which were still a bit undercooked. While the food was tasty overall, at least one dish arrived at the table warm rather than hot. View menu

The food was good, with the right amount of seasoning—neither too spicy nor too salty. We ordered soup but were a bit disappointed that it wasn’t the first dish served. When it arrived, it came with some sweet elements, and a few of the ingredients were barely cooked. While the flavors were indeed enjoyable, one dish arrived warm instead of hot.

We dined on a Saturday evening when the restaurant was about half filled. There was only one hostess-server on duty who did her best to keep things moving, but the food arrived in reverse order from what we expected (main dishes first, then pot sticker appetizers; the soup orders were forgotten completely). The food quality was good, but we are unlikely to return.

"Earlier this year Salty 's was featured in one of the top 100 places to eat in the Bay Area in 2022, and after trying it a couple times, it 's easy to see why. Quality and flavor, great customer service, it checks all those boxes. I occasionally visit the 24 hour fitness on Van Ness, and Salty 's happens to be just few short blocks away which makes it perfect when I 'm looking for a post-workout sandwich. And for those that know me, I love me my sandwiches. On my latest visit, I decided to go with the 'Glorious B sandwich, which come with turkey, bacon, avocado, pepper jack, veggies, and garlic mayo. The blend of flavors and high quality of the turkey is no wonder it 's at the very top of the menu list. It 's one of those sandwiches, that you can bring to park and not need a ton of napkins to get through. It was well put together, with the ratio of all the ingredients matching well. Nothing overpowering, just sandwich perfection. The size of the sandwich I thought was the perfect size for my appetite. As I 've gotten older I can 't put down as much food as I used to, and after one-half I knew I could 've stopped eating, be content, saved the rest for later. But of course I ate the whole thing and nothing sounds better than taking a quick power nap right after. I love that their menu has so many different sandwich combinations, so definitely take time to check their menu before calling-in/walking-in to order because it 'll definitely save you some time. On my latest visit, I was in and out in 10 minutes. Definitely towards the top of my list of sandwiches in this part of town!"
