I love getting the Braut Sampler and Jager Schnitzel! Some beers are seasonal and all are delicious!

As an austrian i can say, it was the most authentic food I‘ve had in more than one year of travelling! Jörg is amazing!

Jorg's is a refreshing addition to the dining scene in Plano. The selection of excellent beers, schnitzel, and spätzle makes for a wonderful dinner experience.

The beer was tasty, and the pretzel was enjoyable as well. The service was also commendable, with friendly staff. However, the schnitzel lacked seasoning, and the spaetzle resembled plain boiled noodles, devoid of sauce or any seasoning. Considering the high ratings on Google and Yelp, we had higher expectations for the price we paid.

Made a reservation over the phone for 7:30 on 6/15. Drove 45 minutes and showed up early for my reservation only to find out they hadn't entered in my reservation. The host acted like he was going to try to accommodate the reservation, but didn't. There was an open table that they didn't seat until a reservation came in 30 minutes after us. They sat all reservations even 30 minutes after ours. We waited 40 minutes to finally be seated as the restaurant cleared out. Our server was great, the food was okay. We had schnitzel and brats. People were gathered inside the building at the front door by the sign saying wait to be seated. As I opened the door to see if there was a host/hostess, so we could put our name on a list, an older black male came toward the door, acted completely annoyed, said “who is holding the door open?”, and asked if I had a reservation. When I indicated I did not, he said, “We can’t take you. We have no room.” He rudely walked away and said nothing else. A simple, I’m sorry but we have a small seating area and we’re unable to serve you would have been fine. To act annoyed for doing your job and treating potential customers rudely and dismissively is unacceptable. We’ve never been here before, but now...

I’ve noticed some changes at Jorge's. The menu has become smaller, and the food portions are now quite a bit less than what they used to be. They also seem to nickel-and-dime customers for extras, like sauces or shared plates. The noise level was as high as ever, which is typical for the place. The sausage appetizer is only enough for two people, but definitely not more. I was really disappointed overall. The dessert portions were also minimal, enough for perhaps one or two people. We had to flag down the waitress multiple times just to get our bill and pay for our service. I've been a regular at Jorg's since it opened about 22 years ago. As a brewer, I'm a huge fan of German and Austrian beers and their brewing processes. Over the years, I've formed a close friendship with Jorg and his family. Jorg, a second-generation chef trained by his mother, consistently serves outstanding, delicious food. I've made many lifelong friends at this establishment, and I wouldn’t trade those friendships for anything—well, maybe for a lot of money, but you can't buy friends like that.
