"Lotus and Light has been bookmarked for me for a while, but never got the chance to go. When I saw them listed as one of the choices at DineLA, I knew it was my sign to go. Hubby I came for lunch (one of the very few restaurants in our area that has a lunch option during DineLA, so a bigger plus! . First off, the ambiance and interior of the restaurant are absolutely beautiful. The greenery inside just makes you so serene. The waitress who helped us was an absolute sweetheart. For $25/person, you get an appetizer, entree, and dessert. We opted for the chicken and beef street fries since each street fries varied with their sauces and topping. I loved the charcoal flavor from the chicken. The aioli sauce with the green onions was an absolute chef kiss! The beef street fries have shreed beef (I think beef used to cook their beef broth since you can definitely taste the pho broth! This one came with a spicy mayo drizzle. Tasty, but I definitely preferred the chicken one better! The beef just tasted a bit heavy. The appetizers' portions were HUGE! We started getting full of just the two appetizers alone. But we couldn't stop there! Out came our entree, which was the signature oxtail pho (I'm so glad this was a part of the DineLA menu! and lobster fried rice. Both were so delicious! The pho's broth was rich, light, and refreshing. You know you have good pho when you don't need to drench your soup with Sriracha and hoison sauce! The lobster fried rice had a great kick of spice to it. There were also huge chunks of lobster inside! I think this dish alone is valued to 1 DineLA cost. And the entree portions were yet again huge! At this point, we were just tooooo full to go on, but both desserts that we chose had ice cream and couldn't togo it. The taro ice cream was very coconut-y, which isn't my thing. The lotus cake was very buttery and moist. Not too impressed with their desserts, but I can easily overlook that as the food is amazing! Although DineLA is now over, I highly recommend this restaurant. I can't wait to come back and try from their regular menu!"

The employees were welcoming and the vegan pho was delicious. I would definitely return to sample more of the vegan dishes.

The employees at the restaurant were very welcoming. The vegan Pho I ordered was absolutely delicious. I definitely plan on returning to sample some of their other vegan dishes.

This charming local spot in Burbank is perfect if you're in the mood for pho or other Vietnamese dishes. It caters to vegans and offers a variety of options for all diners. The key to a good vegan pho is the broth, and this one had a delicious flavor that didn't need any extra toppings. Highly recommended! View menu

This cozy restaurant was charming, but unfortunately, they were short-staffed. One employee was managing the front by himself, appearing overwhelmed and having to turn away customers. It took an hour for our food to arrive, and it was just average. The portion size was small for the price, and the dishes were quite basic. We requested soy sauce twice, but it never arrived after waiting 30 minutes. After paying our bill, we were ignored and it took a long time to receive our to-go boxes.

I had high hopes for this restaurant after reading some positive reviews, but I was ultimately disappointed. The reviews I had seen were outdated, with photos of dishes that were no longer available. The menu options were limited, and the food lacked flavor. I ordered the basil fried rice, shrimp pho, and veggie egg rolls, but the shrimp in the rice was undercooked and bland, the shrimp pho was unappetizing, and the egg rolls were just average. The service was friendly and efficient, but unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations.

Nice little neighborhood spot it's in a strip mall but good quality and price! Overall decent Vietnamese food, I highly recommend the chicken vermicelli salad, and of course pho. I'd steer clear of their fresh summer rolls though too much rice noodle and felt overstuffed with imbalanced proportions of ingredients. Service is great in the restaurant the server was extra attentive to give water even though I was there for takeout/to go only. Check it out!Kid friendliness: Nice big tables and plenty of space for kids.Parking: Strip mall with free parking lot. View menu

Great find. I was in the area and decided to try Lotus Light. I placed a togo order for bun vermicelli with charbroiled pork. I opted for shrimp and egg roll add-pn for $3. In total my food came out to $18 which is a little much for a lunch but fair for the portion and the quality. I throughly enjoyed my food. The flavor was great and food was fresh. I thought there was ample amount of pork which is rare nowadays. The restaurant is nice and clean. Plenty of seating. I did pickup but the interaction I had with the staff team was pleasant. Would recommend and will return.

This Cambodian girl has a review to share! The restaurant was clean and the waiter was friendly. However, I was very disappointed with my oxtail pho. Despite its dark and rich appearance, the broth lacked flavor. Even adding a large amount of fish sauce did not improve the taste. The oxtail itself tasted old, and I couldn't even finish the small pieces they served me. I left the restaurant still feeling hungry. The pork chop and rice dish took 20 minutes to arrive after my pho, but it had good flavor. The restaurant wasn't even busy at the time. My suggestion would be for them to not offer oxtail if they cannot serve it fresh. The broth is everything in a pho dish, and it was disappointing t...

"Easily my favorite bakery in LA!!! Being French, I feel like it's so hard to find good authentic French bakeries but Lou sets the bar soooooo high! No other bakeries have topped Lou's. The croissants are *chef's kiss*, they're flaky, buttery and taste delicious EVERY TIME! I also like their chocolate bread (pain au chocolat) and eclairs, though the eclairs are much sweeter so if you're into that, definitely give them a try! I really love how they are consistent with their pastries. There was never a time when I was disappointed. Now keep in mind they get very busy on the weekend, the wait can be long like 20 mins, especially if you order sandwiches (which by the way, are delicious too and worth it!!! I tried the chicken and turkey sandwiches and would highly recommend them). I think they run out of baguettes after 1pm or even sooner sometimes so if you want baguettes or sandwiches, definitely show up earlier. Even their drinks are so good, I always get their vanilla latte and once again, it tastes delicious e-ve-ry single time! Wanna know another thing I love about this place? The service! Every time we ordered sandwiches and the wait was long, they'd give us a heads up before finalizing our order in case we wanted to skip the sandwiches. One time, there was a mixup which resulted in us getting our sandwiches later than expected so to apologize for the wait, they offered us a croissant * * You will also often see Lou, the chef and owner, walk around and say hi to his customers. He may even sit with them and chat for a few minutes. He seems to know a lot of people in the neighborhood and that's actually how it is in France. Bakeries are in every corner and we love our bakers! Anyway I know this is now a super long review but I only have amazing things to say about this place, their food, the chef and the staff. I just wish they'd open every day"

"This was the one of a few places that I expected excellence in almost everything but sadly this was not the case. I went for a Sunday Brunch, to celebrate my bday. I made reservations for 11am for 3. We were seated within 5 minutes but once we got seated we waited over 20 minutes for the server to come to our table and that was only after I got up to let the manager know that we have been waiting for a long time without even water being served. Once the server came to get our order we still waited about another 30 minutes for our drinks to be brought and it was just a mimosa and a plain coffee and again after I flagged down the manager. The food and drink itself were perfect. I wouldn't have minded so much the extra long wait if I've had my drinks early on since I did ordered bottomless mimosas. Sadly, I couldn't order as many since they came out at the same time as the food. The manager did come and apologized and said he would take care of us but other than him giving me his card he didn't do much, not even a free drink as an apology. My reservations did say we were celebrating my bday but nothing was said to me about it. I was quite disappointed especially bc of the type of restaurant this is and it wasn't busy when we got there. Four other parties were seated after us within the 30 minutes we sat waiting and waiting and they were all served and were already eating while we didn't even have water.. The view was amazing though."

"As an Italian, I can confidently say that nothing about this place felt authentically Italian to me, aside from a slideshow on the television and the appealing decor. A true Italian restaurant welcomes guests with warmth and hospitality. Initially, the busboy informed me that he needed to check with his manager about seating me. After some time, she approached me and seated me, and the busboy promptly ensured I had water. However, things went downhill very quickly from there. The service was atrocious, with the staff being either curt or outright rude. The only exception was the busboy in the mask, who was genuinely sweet and considerate. I have allergies to alcohol and vinegar, and when I asked several questions, the manager, who was also my waitress, confidently assured me that the artichokes were fresh and grilled. She insisted that I had nothing to worry about regarding my allergies. Sadly, this turned out to be a complete lie. The artichokes were definitely not fresh; they tasted canned or jarred, and the claim that they were grilled was simply untrue. The moment I took a bite, I could tell there was vinegar in it, causing an itchy and burning sensation on the roof of my mouth. When I got up to find the waitress and express my concerns, I was met with defensiveness. The worst part was when she admitted she couldn’t comment on the artichokes because she didn’t eat them herself, and she couldn’t get clear answers from the cooks, only that they were imported. I felt extremely uncomfortable with her dismissive attitude and lack of knowledge. Ultimately, she offered to remove the dish from my bill but insisted that these were special imported artichokes. To me, this felt like being gaslit. I continued to stress the seriousness of my allergies after just one bite of the dish. I asked her why she would serve me an artichoke if she wasn’t sure about its marinade and why my questions weren’t being answered by the kitchen staff. I was left feeling frustrated and more than tempted to leave, but out of respect for my main dish order, I decided to stay, expecting my meal to arrive soon. I ordered chicken piccata and specifically requested that no wine be used due to my severe alcohol allergy. The waitress informed me that the cook wanted me to know it wouldn’t taste the same, which was fine with me. I saw other patrons who came in after me receiving their steaks and pastas, while I sat waiting for nearly an hour. Eventually, I asked a male waiter for an update on my dish, only to be told that it needed to cook. As if I didn’t already know that. When my chicken piccata finally arrived, I was starving. I wanted to scream! I had mentioned my hunger when I arrived, yet it seemed like they either didn’t serve bread or didn’t care to offer any. I had to get up to ask for Parmesan cheese since no one bothered to offer it to me like they did for the other tables. No one ever checked on how my meal was going; I had to approach the counter to pay. As I looked around, I couldn’t believe how generously everyone else was treated, while I felt completely ignored. As I write this review, I’m dealing with a painful stomach ache, rehashing the experience in my mind. I can't understand why I wasn't asked if I needed an appetizer or dessert, or if my allergies were worsening. Nothing! To add insult to injury, my waitress apologized for the long wait after bringing my chicken, claiming it was due to accommodating a larger party. I honestly can’t believe I left a tip. I’ve never been so relieved to leave a restaurant. I will never return to this place, and I recommend that you don’t either. UPDATE THE NEXT DAY: I confirmed there was indeed alcohol and/or vinegar in my food. An hour after writing my review, I was doubled over the toilet all night. This quickly escalated into dehydration and a severe migraine. My throat and nose started closing up, and I nearly had to use my EpiPen. With allergies, reactions can be immediate or delayed, and mine come on slowly but then escalate quickly. I am absolutely miserable today and had to call off work. I am changing my rating from two stars to one star."
