"This is a trendy upstairs spot with a view of the old railroad depot. It's a bar and restaurant featuring a 20-seat bar, along with tables and booths. There’s live music, as well as pool and foosball tables to enjoy. One of the highlights is their impressive selection of 18 beers on tap, predominantly local craft brews. While it wasn't very busy during my visit, the food took about half an hour to arrive, but I suspect that's because the wings are massive—much larger than typical wings! I ordered the tavern burger, which came with the classic toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo. The bun was great—soft and fresh—and the burger was cooked to perfection. I paired it with a White Zombie beer, which complemented the meal wonderfully. The staff was fantastic; I have absolutely no complaints!"

The restaurant is permanently closed. I attempted to go there for dinner tonight, but it has been replaced by a different establishment. What a shame.

If I ever make it back to Spruce Pine this is a must stop first place to return back to ! Food and service was over the top ! I highly recommend the south west egg rolls wings ! I tried a flight of the largest selection of local brew under one roof ! If you ever get to Spruce Pine NC don't miss this (hole in the wall) literally !!!! Great place for lunch or dinner !!!

We stumbled upon Lower Street Tavern a few months ago traveling around Asheville where we live. We love the food and travel back to spruce pine often to enjoy. Just wanted to say we decided to try a new place tonight for wing night in Asheville called Bonfire on Patton ave. MISTAKE. You guys have the best wings by far of any place we've visited. We love the atmosphere and staff are always pleasant. Thank you for some of the best burgers possible also. We will be coming back often and tell everyone about your restaurant. Anyone who hasn't tried lower street tavern better give it a shot.
