"When visiting Des Moines, this by far was arguably the best restaurant we ate at! I would highly recommend! Service was good and the food was great! Good flavor and portions. We ordered the Chicken Quesadilla, one normal and one with “light” (less) cheese. I think the one with light cheese was a much better choice. Especially if you’re not a huge connoisseur of cheese. We also ordered the Chicken Tortilla soup and the Jalapeño Chicken sandwich. All of it was extremely flavorful and well prepared. The Malo Fries were good as well! Cost is slightly on the higher side for a lunch meal. But definitely worth a try!"

This was our second visit…four of us. I had the chicken taco and the steak taco. Came with some of my favorite Malo Fries. Loved it. It was half price margaritas. The margarita was over the top fantastic and we will return.

That was my second time here! The food was great, I always get Carnitas, they're so good! Meat was tender with a lot of taste! I have a strawberry margarita that was refreshing! Atmosphere is amazing with great staff! Perfect place for a girl night! View menu

Delicious seafood nachos! I ordered a small appetizer as an entree. Best I've ever had! My husband got the #17. He said it was very good, but the salsa was a little charred. We got the trio appetizer with salsa, guac, and queso, and enjoyed all three! Scrumptious, and we had leftovers!

Great food and great service. My wife’s birthday and they gave free dessert. I got the grilled chicken fajita and portobello mushrooms. We also got super nacho and huge entrees. Went for early dinner and only few people there so great time to go if want to get in and out. Highly recommend to go. There was 6 of us to btw View menu

Absolutely love this eatery. The Dos Pescados was muy delicioso! I really want to give my experience 3 ?? because the bar service was absolutely ridiculous. My friend ordered her meal and it took an hour and a half to get. We were so perturbed bythe time we left. However, the food was good enough it made up for the poor service. Eat the Tacos! Half price margaritas are aWIN!

I threw a surprise birthday party for my mom here this last weekend and all of the Malo staff, waiters and cooks were absolutely fantastic!!! The process in reserving the La Sala, or private party room, couldn’t have gone any smoother; with great communication from Anna, the general manager and Meghan, our hostess for our event, was an absolute angel and was so attentive and truly awesome at her role. Of course, my whole family, never having tried Malo before, were absolutely blown away by the food and overall atmosphere. My mom, family and I couldn’t be happier with our evening!
