"If you find yourself in downtown San Juan Bautista, you absolutely must visit this restaurant! The homemade dishes are incredibly delicious. The house wine, bread, soup, beans, salad, and lamb perfectly complement their signature duck dish. While everything may seem simple, it genuinely feels like you're being welcomed into a local home with authentic hospitality. I opted for the roasted lamb, which was seasoned with special spices. It was so generously portioned and tender that I ended up eating it with my hands! To top it all off, we treated ourselves to some ice cream for dessert. This is a fantastic spot for families and friends to come together. I highly recommend it!"

My family and I dined at Easter, and the food was fantastic! I ordered the salmon as part of my meal. It was incredibly juicy, although I did feel the need to add a little salt and pepper (that was my only complaint).

I had a delightful dining experience at Basque Matxain Etxea. We shared three tapas served on rice: shrimp, mussels, and mushrooms. All the flavors were outstanding, and the ambiance had an authentic local feel. I would definitely return.

This is our absolute favorite Basque restaurant! The food is not only delicious but also comes in generous portions, and the owner is exceptionally friendly. The best way to experience the meal is family-style. I especially enjoyed the lamb, wine, salad, and lentil soup—everything we tried was wonderful. Even the warm bread was amazing! This place is definitely a must-visit! View menu

The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and a friendly staff. Our waitress, María, made us feel at ease and provided excellent recommendations. Luis (Koldo in Basque) was very welcoming; he took the time to chat with us, shared some stories, and suggested a fantastic dinner option. It turned out to be a delicious meal. We enjoyed oxtail paired with a Garnacha red wine from Catalunya, Spain, called Lineas, which complemented the dish perfectly.

This restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience. You can choose a traditional meal or opt for family-style dining, where food is served at the table for sharing, just like at home! The meals are delicious, perfectly seasoned, with tender and juicy meats, flavorful soups, fresh breads, and table wine. If you leave here hungry, it's certainly your own fault! I've been here several times with friends and family, and I've never been disappointed by either the food or the service. The owner frequently comes by to ensure that everything is just right at your table.

This restaurant is incredible! Make sure to come with a hearty appetite, as the included wine pairs beautifully with the meal. While they don’t serve cocktails, there's a complimentary appetizer available on Yelp. The service was exceptional, and the cleanliness was remarkable. The food was outstanding too. We indulged in a multi-course meal—either five or six courses (I can’t remember exactly)—and every dish was delicious. There were seven of us, and when it was time to pay the bill, they offered us the choice of one check or separate ones; we chose separate. They even handled our leftovers without any fuss. We will definitely be back! View menu
