"I'm gluten free and love sushi, so I'm always ecstatic to find a sushi place that understands gf! They had gf soy sauce on request, and the menu had a blurb at the bottom that said all the sauces are made gf. I was so excited, I ordered the unagi (eel), which I love but never get to order because of the sauce. Turns out, their eel sauce wasn't gf either, but the staff did bring the roll with the sauce on the side (which my friend could eat). So, not quite what I was hoping for, but at least they caught it while I was ordering and there was no awkward sending the food away. On the plus side, they had classic sushi options and some very tasty rolls I haven't seen before! The staff was helpful and very good about refilling our water often. I love that the menus are laminated and you write in what you want with a dry-erase marker, including comments! Great way to make sure everything is right. Overall, definitely coming back if I'm in the area! Service: Dine in Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5"

Loved the place. Fresh great tasting sushi. Removed a star due to the terrible parking validation system. It's actually gotten even worse over the years if that is possible. This sushi place is actually very conveniently located near point defiance off of Ruston in Tacoma... The service was great, the staff was great, and the atmosphere is actually really nice and clean. But the food was kind of mediocre in terms of how fresh it tasted. A spider roll should never taste fishy. Mine tasted fishy. It's average to below average sushi. We got assorted tempura and it tasted meh. We got four different rolls, half premium and half regular. The sauces they use are amazing but the fish was lukewarm. If this review changes from 2 stars to 1 star, it is because I definitely got food poisoning from here. There was also an eyelash and a piece of plastic on my rainbow roll. The price did not match the quality of the rolls. The service was okay. The atmosphere was quiet and there wasn't loud music. The server seemed angry when I declined to tip on the card but perked up when I took out cash, then got angry again when they saw it was not as much as they wanted. I would not recommend it, and I will...

"Great restaurant with good food and service. Staff was very accommodating though we did not have a reservation on a Friday night. The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. Loved the lamb shanks this is a must have. Halibut was also very tasty. One feedback on the roasted calamari is the spices were a bit overpowering, which did not do justice to the amazing sauce with garlic and parsley. The dessert menu is excellent and well thought in conjunction with the rest of the menu. The bourbon chocolate cake is with rich dark chocolate I absolutely loved the sticky texture and how the whipped cream complemented it. I suggest you get the cream on the side to adjust the balance to your liking. One other thing I recomend is the house limoncello with the bourbon chocolate cake as it helps to ease the intense (but very pleasant) chocolate flavor with every two to three spoons. The culinary experience was very satisfactory. In terms of price, be prepared to pay about $80 per person including the tip. I think this price is worth it especially on special occasions. By the way, I really appreciated the disclosure at the bottom of the menu with regular font size (rather than the small print most restaurants do) regarding the 20% tip policy. Furthermore, the communication that 70% of the tip going directly to our server while the remaining 30% going to their welfare expenses was transparecy at its best. I think other restaurants should take Primo as a role model in terms of how tipping policy works and should be communicated to the patrons. Well done Primo! I hope to see you soon thank you for a wonderful evening Parking: It was a bit hard to find a spot."
