"A hotel bar that masquerades as a sports bar. The bartending staff is great, and there 's a good beer variety, but there are so many better places to watch the game. The food is priced like hotel room service, and is about that quality. Also, not a good sign when someone acting like the manager sarcastically exclaims Yay Sports! at the end of the 3rd quarter of game 7 of the NBA conference finals. Wander 2 blocks in any other direction if you want a good sports bar, but if you 're staying at the Pendry, this spot is fine."

Happy hour is a great deal! Safe are great. Guacamole is pretty bland.

They are not afraid of the unexpected the drinks are layered and the rounds are sublime. The dealers choice is to be trusted if you order your true choice.

Awesome food and the best service. I finally got something other than a burger, and it was fantastic! I even had enough to bring home to eat later. Amazing!

Just had beers, so I can not speak to the food. The hazy IPA they had was delicious. A few others were good too. Service was nice. Good atmosphere to watch a ballgame. View menu

A limited food menu, like don't plan on a big dinner, but quality is really good and lots of different beers on tap, that's the draw. Just great ambiance and fun vibe. Love it.

Beer is spending, however, clean taps and glasses, so it was refreshing. Great friendly staff and happy patrons. I'd definitely go again. Music's not too loud. You can talk and hear without having to talk over the

Excellent service. Our group enjoyed the dealers choice drink option and were able to try many previously unknown to us drink combinations. We didn't try any food, but there is a great selection of desserts. Plenty of TVs to watch sports. View menu

You have to wonder why there are available tables at a place right next to the ballpark on game day. The atmosphere and cool games to play and watch are fantastic, the food was subpar at best. Nachos where half the chips are from the bottom of the bag, cold wings and diet cokes with a layer of film on the top from filthy lines and chaotic service are all unfortunate reasons why it wasn’t teeming with people. Unfortunate.

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
