"This restaurant never fails to impress! It is, without a doubt, the best Thai restaurant in San Mateo. What really impressed me was their attention to detail and thoughtful service. My favorite dish is the Pad Kee Mao, which I always order with an "Asian spicy" spice level, and they consistently deliver unlike other Thai restaurants that are hesitant to fulfill such requests. They even serve their Thai iced tea with a cute teddy bear ice cube made from Thai ice, which not only keeps the drink cold but also prevents it from getting diluted. Whether it was adjusting the spice level or catering to dietary restrictions, they went above and beyond to ensure that customers had the best dining experience possible."

I wish I found the hair in my roll earlier... The food was fine, a bit on the sweet side, but I found a hair rolled into the shrimp roll after taking a bite. So gross.Food: 1/5

Good Thai food at reasonable prices and good service. This place is family friendly and spacious, and the food is above average. They also carry a few authentic Thai dishes such as the grilled pork neck appetizer.Food: 4/5 View menu

Solid thai food, great portion, and good prices. Can’t go wrong! The staff were super sweet and surprised me with a free thai tea when they noticed the food was spicy for me. It’s nice to get that personal touch during a dining experience again.Food: 5/5

This restaurant is a great option for a late-night meal. The service was top-notch, but both of us couldn't quite finish our dishes for some reason. The flavors were delicious, but the abundance of strong spices left us feeling really full. It wasn't that the food was bad, but we just couldn't eat it all. Overall, I would rate the food a 3 out of 5.

Happy with this restaurant in general. We order 3 meals: Pineapple fried rice (our 1st favorite strongly recommend), pad see ew with beef (2nd favorite) and pad thai (decent but not the best we've eaten).Checkin with Yelp to get a free thai tea (thai tea is not bad but not good either)Cons: they gave me a dirty fork. This does make me question how clean do they wash their dishes. View menu

We really enjoyed this restaurant! The atmosphere was great, the service was friendly, and the food was delicious. I had the noodle soup with duck and my husband had the curry with tofu, and we both left feeling very happy with our meal. The portions were large and the flavors were perfectly balanced. We think this will be our go-to Thai restaurant whenever we visit San Mateo. Food: 5/5

Just so so. We went there at dinner time. Some items were already sold out. The staff was not friendly, but not particularly rude to us. They just have an indifferent attitude. The food is just okay. Compared to another Thai restaurant that we already like, we could only give it an okay.Vegetarian options: There’s veggie optionsKid-friendliness: Provide plastic utensils and plates for toddlers, and there’s a booster seat for sofa seating

"Curry Hyuga had long been on my culinary radar, and today, I finally had the chance to experience it. The occasion arose as I needed to pick up my partner at SFO later, and given the mere 10-minute drive from the restaurant to the airport, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to satiate my appetite and make the most of my time, rather than aimlessly circling around the airport. Conveniently, there are numerous public parking lots scattered throughout the town. The restaurant opens its doors at 11:30 am, and I arrived promptly at 11:25 am, only to find a queue already forming outside, as depicted in the photo. The attentive server, Yuki promptly greeted each customer and kept my water glasses filled, setting a positive tone for the dining experience.Opting for their Signature Curry Rice Entree, which features their caramelized onion curry accompanied by shredded cabbage, creamy potato salad, and Fukujin pickles, I decided to elevate my meal by adding Chicken Cutlet Katsu Curry with Chicken Karaage as additional toppings. To my amazement, my order was delivered to my table in a mere 3 minutes, which left me thoroughly impressed. Curry Hyuga's standout feature is their incredibly tender meat, perfectly complemented by their mouthwatering curry—a true masterpiece with Kanazawa-style sweetness and richness that sets it apart. To further customize your dish, they offer a selection of five different spices: Ichimi Togarashi, Jalapeno Pepper, Pequin Pepper, Wiri Wiri Pepper, and Orange Habanero. I had the pleasure of sampling all of them, and personally, I found the Wiri Wiri Pepper and Orange Habanero powder to be standout choices. Their spiciness elevated the curry to a whole new level, complemented by the unique fragrance of the peppers."
