"Okay this has quickly become our favorite spot to dine in Newtown. Oh my gosh all of the food is so yummy. The staff being it to next level. They save your drink preferences in your system so they remember the wine you loved or the cocktail you’re probably going to order. That little extra step makes it so personal and intimate. For food, you have to order the steak skewers OUT OF THIS WORLD. The focaccia bread is the best I’ve ever had, with the exception of a small deli I visited in Italy. The pasta dish is amazing. The pork chop wrapped in bacon is exceptional. The steak is outstanding. I don’t have a bad thing to say. Now please excuse me sheik I go make a reservation for this weekend!! This is the first time going to this bar in back of Nouveau. Antoinette's bartender became very rude and unfriendly. We had one drink and left. You can do better Nouveau. Including the specialty cocktail he made had no taste (Orange Cream drink).

Went for the first time last night and was beyond pleased with the experience. The food was phenomenal as were the drinks and the service was warm and friendly. A very cozy setting as well. Not loud at all and perfectly inviting. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough! View menu

by far one of my favorite restaurants in fairfield county. last night they were a little behind us to thank us for getting us an app on the house. it was thoughtful and appreciated. the app was something I didn't have ordered, but it was delicious, as in a wise as it worked out.

Hey, a higher end restaurant in Newtown/Sandy Hook, go figure. We sat on their lovely porch last night with the service being professional/attentive. Had the duck mouse appetizer which came with a nice little salad, rustic grainy mustard and an assortment of pickles/olives. Quite good. The crab cake appetizer was really good, lightly fried and fresh as well (hard to find). The scallop entree was flavorful and perfectly cooked with really fresh corn, lox and light sauce. The desert was satisfactory (lemoncello cake). I had the Malbec and it was excellent, as it should be for a wine bar. Who knew?

A perfect place for an event. We rented out Antoinette 's which is a separate building in the back. It comfortably fit 25 people having two floors added a nice flow to the meal/activities. It was really nice to have the patio open as well! The food was phenomenal. I really mean it. Everybody was complimenting the space, with one guest noting that it was the classiest shower venue she 's been to. Linda, our coordinator, went wayyyy above and beyond to make the event perfect. The bar/wait staff were also super attentive yet easygoing. Can 't wait to come back for a regular date night dinner service! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 View menu

My wife and I tried Nouveau Monde in Newtown (Sandy Hook) for the first time. It’s in what appears to be a very large old house repurposed for a restaurant. We had looked at the menu before we booked, and knew that it would be a tad more (but not a lot more) than our normal restaurant rotation. We split the charcuterie board with added cheese as an appetizer (and also the added option of bread). We both decided to order the swordfish. Also had 2 glasses of wine – (the sommelier helped with the first round). I have to say that the tad more (but not a lot more) than our normal spend, was money well spent. The ambiance was “refined” but comfortable. The service was impeccable, and the food (all...

I have nothing but good things to say about Nouveau Monde! We found out about this gem while looking for a location for our baby shower! And I’m so happy we chose them. Our party was last year, on October 16th. Our event planner , Lynda was just a delight to work with. The location is beautiful, the food is sensational we did go again for dinner a couple times before and after the shower and we could not stop talking about how good the food was! If you need a location for a baby shower, a bridal shower or any other small event, don’t hesitate to contact Nouveau Monde, and ask for Lynda! And if you are looking for a special place for a nice dinner, you are not going to regret coming here! Ser...

"I had always heard that Sal e Pepe was a great restaurant in Newtown, and one visit was all it took to solidify those claims! For very good reason, they’ve swept the Connecticut Magazine awards for years. We had the cheesy garlic bread for anappetizer, and even though it had quite the blanket of mozzarella on it, it was a surprisingly light bread that my fiancé and Ihad no problems taking down ourselves. There’s also a hint of lemon in the butter, which they also bring with the normal breadfor the table, and it’s really tasty! Our other appetizer was the angus beef bites, and we found the meat to be tender, andthe potato croquettes to be a delicious topper. The star of the show for me was Mrs. Marini’s Lasagna Bolognese. Though I’mItalian, I’m not usually the biggest lasagna lover because I’m used to my family making it with a ton of ricotta, whichI’m the biggest fan of. This lasagna is literally the best I’ve ever had because it had the most layers of pasta I’ve everseen, with no ricotta and a blend of cheeses instead! The sauce was also delicious and had just the right amount of meat mixedin. If you don’t get the lasagna on your visit, you’re missing out! My fiancé loved the parmesan tilapia, which is theirbest seller, and I also loved the short rib ravioli the meat was so flavorful in this dish! For dessert, we enjoyed thetiramisu and the drunken cherries, which we had never seen on a menu before. We loved this restaurant so much, we were about togo back in a couple days had the timing worked out when we were in the area. I told the owner I’ll be bringing my Italiangrandfather here to try that lasagna!"
