"Unfortunately, since the new owners took over Front Street Station several years ago, the quality has declined dramatically. When my kids were young, my husband and I would go there frequently, and the previous owners provided excellent food and service in a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. It was a fantastic family restaurant. Clearly, the current owners lack an understanding of what makes a great dining experience. When we arrived on Saturday and entered the bar, I was taken aback by the appearance of the woman tending the bar; she looked disheveled and unkempt. While I support giving people in need a job, I believe she would be better suited for a non-customer-facing role. We ordered our drinks—mine was red wine, and my friend opted for soda. I headed to the restroom, but when I tried the door, it was locked. I stood near the entrance of the small hallway leading to the dining room so the woman could walk past me when she exited. Suddenly, I heard a loud voice from behind me, announcing to the entire small dining area, “There’s someone in the bathroom!” I replied, “I know. That’s why I’m standing here.” A minute later, the woman from the restroom came out and mentioned that the bathroom door locks when closed. I wasn’t sure if she meant it locks from the inside, so I went to try the door again and found it still locked. I realized I would need a key to unlock it, just like in cheap establishments that want to prevent people from barging in. I looked around for the loud waitress but didn’t see her. I went over to the bar and asked the bartender if she had a key. She looked frustrated and approached the restroom. After finding the door still locked, she rummaged in a basket on a shelf across the wall for the key. Just then, the loud waitress entered the dining room and—once again, in her characteristic volume—said, “I told you! There’s someone in there!” In disbelief, I told her, “The woman just came out of the bathroom.” She began to say something along the lines of having to wait for the key, but she delivered it in a nasty tone. I replied firmly, “Don’t you dare speak to me like that!” To my shock, she then told me to leave the restaurant. I was taken aback—I knew the restaurant had gone downhill, but this was beyond unexpected. Just then, the bartender managed to open the door, and as the waitress continued yelling for me to leave, I laughed and said, “I will, after I use the bathroom.” I entered the restroom, all the while speculating what would happen when I came out. Meanwhile, the waitress marched back into the bar and berated my male friend—who, by the way, is in his 60s and dressed appropriately for a nice lunch—calling me rude and saying we needed to leave, once again in front of everyone in the dining room. She then went behind the bar, took my glass of wine, and set it under the bar, instructing the bartender not to serve us anymore. My friend pointed out that we had already paid for our drinks, and if she was taking it back, he wanted a refund. The bartender confirmed we had indeed paid, prompting the nasty waitress to return my wine to the bar."

Excellent dinner sitting at the bar which was a refurbished diner with so much charm. We were given great recommendations and the food was freshly prepared and delicious. Highly recommend for a wonderful meal in Greenport!

We did decide early in the morning of our last day to try this restaurant because we did not want to drive. I t was the best decision; the staff was amiable. They gave us a general history of the area, and the food was delicious; it made our experience enjoyable.

Hubby and I had a late luncheon meal and it was sooo good! I had a burger, cooked to perfection and my husband had a spinach salad with broiled chicken that was great! Every time I eat here my meal is great! This place is a hidden gem, as are the owners! And Rose’s desserts are heavenly!

We stayed at an amazing B&B in East Marian and wanted to bring in dinner due to Covid. Front Street Station was the perfect spot. Not only was the food delicious, but the portions were huge! They even delivered the food to our B&B and on New Years Eve! Sharon was a pleasure to work with and ensured that we all had an amazing dinner. Can’t wait to go back again! Highly recommend Front Street Station! View menu

It was wonderful to return! The weather was perfect, and Front Street Station did not disappoint! We enjoyed two dinners there and ordered the delicious fried flounder, which came with some of the best fries we've ever tasted. The meal was beautifully presented and served hot. It was great chatting with Dave and Sharon; they made us feel like we had just been there last week. We’re already planning our return for next year. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxing, with soft music playing in the background.

When our food arrived, it was truly outstanding! My wife’s salad was fresh and made with high-quality ingredients, and my double-decker sandwich was prepared perfectly. What impressed me the most was the excellent service. My two daughters ordered the same dish, and they typically never finish their meals when dining out. Our waitress suggested we split the dish, as it was quite substantial. She was absolutely right—it was the perfect portion for both girls, and for the first time, they finished every bite of their meals. The food was fantastic, and I highly recommend dining here. Despite being short-staffed, the team really went above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction.

Looking for a place to have lunch in Greenport Ny one cold January Saturday. Due to the pandemic many restaurants have closed it doors. We were lucky to find this place a quiet gem. Tucked away on a busy street in downtown Greenport, we were greeted with a smile and a friendly greeting, please come in have a seat and get warm, we will be right with you! And so we did, as we were in the middle of a cold snap, 22 degrees). After ordering our drinks hot tea, and a ginger ale) We started with the shrimp appetizer, Fantastic! My Wife have the battered Chicken in a basket and I had the soft shell crab sandwich. The chicken was fresh, honey based batter with a beet, red cabbage coleslaw and curly Fr... View menu

After having a nice conversation at Front Street Station several days before our arrival, the lady I spoke with said that they can accommodate my 14 year old granddaughter’s dinner to have no oil or butter sauce. No problem at all. I said we will be there early the next week. On a Monday, I called to make a reservation for a Tuesday and they said they were closed for a wedding. I didn’t expect that. Then I asked for Wednesday for 11 of us. When my family arrived, we were being seated at three different small tables. I asked, “ can’t we put two tables of 4 together atleast”? I was told “no”. There were so many empty tables at this time. I don’t know how they accommodated a wedding, but I was...

We tried to have dinner here on a Friday evening around 7:30 my wife and I and our two young children. We asked to take one of the tables outside in the front. About 2 3 minutes after being told that we could grab one of the outside tables (all were empty, most of the inside empty as well), as we were sitting down, the owner came outside and yelled that 's it, we 're closed, without explanation. Obviously, they were not closed. There were a few people inside still eating, and the bar was open. I asked the owner for an explanation, and he just said again, we 're closed. I went inside to further get an explanation, because I believe we deserved that after he told us to grab a table. Again, we...

"I was very excited to try to the Southold Fish Market this afternoon. My wife and I called-in an order of two wraps for takeout. When we arrived, I went inside to pick-up our order. There was a short line of customers waiting to pick-up orders, and all seemed to be following social distancing practices, wearing masks, etc. I expected to and had no issue waiting a few minutes to pick up the order. As it turns out, I ended up being not only complacent with a short wait, but thankful as I looked around and saw multiple employees (1) wearing masks improperly, (2) pulling them off of their face to talk to customers, and (3) not wearing masks at all, while eating behind the register. At this point, I left the restaurant and called to let them know what I had observed and that I would not be picking up the order. After I explained this, the person on the phone said that she managed one part of the room and all of the employees in that part of the room were wearing masks. I'm not a public health or infectious disease expert, but I don't think half of the employees following the rules is going to work in this case. I'm trying to think of ways to give the Southold Fish Market as an establishment the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately I'm having a difficult time doing so. It wasn't one or two employees behaving inappropriately, it was nearly everyone working there. The manager I spoke to on the phone wasn't apologetic, but defensive. The message that this pattern of behavior sends me is that they don't take customer health and safety seriously."
