"New to the area and currently focused on trying a new restaurant every weekend. I was excited to try First and South and enjoy a more American traditional restaurant. The atmosphere was great as it was packed and people were having a good time. The food was seriously ~okay~ my tuna burger was not medium rare which is what I asked for, it was well done. What I think the restaurant could most improve on is their cocktail program. For $16 I don’t think a cocktail should ever come with a clear plastic straw, poor quality ice, and no presentation other then a quarter of a lemon in a town where more and more cocktail bars are opening up with similar prices and exorbitantly better quality, First and South should take this to heart. Probably won’t return but glad I visited"

The food was very poor, I didn't like it, very expensive for what they served me for a chicken sandwich, I didn't like it!

Great food and wonderful service. Perfect place for anyone who wants gluten free options. Even the desserts were gluten free.

Nice place off the Main Street in Greenport. Located where it says... 1st and South. Nice menu, efficient service, good food and cocktails.

Safe for those with food allergies and an all-around good time. Everyone is super friendly, too. Super close to main street for easy shopping or a pretty stroll after a good meal. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free is the big one, but they also have vegetarian and vegan options. View menu

We enjoyed our late lunch there. We enjoyed the fresh oysters and vinegrette they came with. Fries were cooked to perfection. The mussels were though overcooked. The brooth tasted delicious with fresh herbs and baby tomatoes. Some bread would have been good to sponge the remaining brooth. Burger was good, too.

Solid menu with small twists on classic dishes that elevate them. The Kale Caesar Salad included bites of crisp apple, something that worked surprisingly well. I do not know the magic they use to create their french fries, and my only regret is not going back another day for a meal that was french-fry-centric.

I visited this restaurant for brunch based on a recommendation from another place I tried in Long Island, and I was not disappointed. I ordered the brunch burger, which was absolutely delicious. It was quite messy but extremely satisfying. The burger came with some very tasty fresh-cut fries. Overall, I was very impressed. View menu

The ultimate local hangout. Always warm and inviting. It boasts cherished traditions such as summer pig roasts on Mondays, a winter Prohibition Party, and delicious burgers served daily. The beer and wine selections are outstanding. You can choose to sit at the bar, outside, or in the dining room, each offering its own unique atmosphere. Plus, there's often fantastic live music in a cozy setting.

"It is a very unique, beautiful boutique hotel . The room was ready about 1:30 vs 3pm standard check-in time. The reception area is rather large. There is seating by the entrance and a majority space of the space is a boutique. The rooms are in separate areas throughout the space. Read the fine print carefully before you book. It is stated very clearly where the room location is-above Brix Rye, reception etc they cannot guarantee quiet. To get to rooms 11, 12, 14 (above the reception area) you had to go outside, enter a separate part of the building, go upstairs. We heard music once for a brief period of time. This area was quiet and the only time you heard anything was when people shut their doors. The room was beautiful, spacious with many windows views of the main side streets. There were 2 robes, 4 very large towels, a hand towel, a face cloth specifically for makeup removal. The Ortigia products were wonderful- liquid handsoap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner solid soap. However, I wish I had brought my own conditioner. We received 2 bottles of water, 2 face masks a personalized note. The room refrigerator was large and while it had various minibar items there was plenty of room for our food items water. The nespresso machine was a nice touch touch too. Because it was a rainy weekend (due to Hurricane Ophelia) you could not sit outside in any of the areas referred to as Stirling square/the Lounge. The American Beech restaurant was open and covered outdoor seating was available. There was a very unique seating area upstairs to the left of the reception desk right outside Black Llama bar (closed). What I really liked was all info was communicated through text (there are no phones in the room). Between 4 5pm rosè hour there was a glass from a Long Island winery given to each guest. We did walk around Greenport, but the weather was rainy the maritime festival was cancelled. Dinner was at 1943 pizza bar which was delicious. Breakfast was a continental breakfast delivered at 9am in a picnic basket on top of a tray one can use to eat breakfast in bed. Not a fan of that, but comfy chairs and a table in the room were perfect. It included yogurts, bagels, OJ, butter, CC, jelly, 2 coffees, a banana orange. We were very pleased with our stay hope to return on a better weather weekend."
