"It was a birthday dinner. We hadn’t been together as a group for a year due to COVID, so we were really looking forward to it. We picked MGFD because it’s consistently good and most central to us all. The experience was horrible from the start. We waited a long while just to get water, and longer for the drinks. They arrived after our appetizers. We ordered the whole snapper who unbeknownst to us was at least an hour wait. I wish the sever would’ve mentioned that as they held the rest of our food with it. They tried bringing us chips; however it was in no ones interest. To make a long story shorter, most of the food quality was still what was expected, but the service was horrible and to make it worse, when the manager approached us to apologize, he offered us complimentary deserts as it was a birthday celebration, and never did one arrive at the table. We were there hours, and it was the longest meal I’ve had to wait for in my life. I don’t even think the fish was started til after and hour and a half into our visit. The hamburger was completely over cooked or left sitting waiting for the fish and it kept cooking itself. Regardless, the birthday girl, a foodie, was more than disappointed by the experience. This is my first and hopefully my only poor review on this site. Best"

"Beatrix isn't your average restaurant. It's a chameleon, effortlessly shifting from sun-drenched brunch haven to chic bistro as the day melts into dusk. I've popped in for both, and let me tell you, this place has serious charm in every iteration. The menu is a celebration of fresh, seasonal ingredients. My go-to? The ricotta and lemon pancakes. They're pillowy soft, infused with a hint of citrus, and practically melt in your mouth. Don't even get me started on the housemade strawberry jam – it's like sunshine on a spoon. As the day deepens, Beatrix transforms into a cozy oasis. String lights twinkle overhead, casting a warm amber glow, and the chatter softens to a gentle hum. It's the perfect setting for an intimate dinner date or a catch-up with friends. The dinner menu is a touch more refined, but still playful. I devoured the pan-roasted chicken with root vegetables and a decadent truffle glaze – it was pure comfort food heaven. And let's not forget the cocktails – the grapefruit Paloma is a tart and refreshing masterpiece. But Beatrix is more than just good food (although, that's definitely a major draw). It's the little things that make the experience special. The staff is friendly and attentive, always there with a smile and a refill. And the open kitchen adds a touch of theater to the whole affair – it's mesmerizing to watch the chefs work their magic. P.S. Don't leave without trying a slice of their famous caramel pie. It's gooey, it's salty, it's perfection. You'll thank me later."

"The ambience is great! I've never been to Baldwin Park, but I really liked the area. I went to Osprey yesterday with my wife on a date night. Our server was very sweet and bubbly. We first had the Calamari with the citrus aioli, and that was very delicious. We started with the peims. They were very tasteful and only needed some salt and lemon. For Entrée I had the pork chop that was delightful and filled. My wife had the fish and chips. The dough was great, but the fish just needed a little more season. The chips were amazing. At the end we had the carrot cake, which was beautiful, moist and in a good way dense. It went with some ice cream and canned walnuts. Overall my experience was divine last night! would recommend"

"I visited this restaurant for the first time to celebrate a holiday with a friend. We arrived right at 11:00 a.m. and were the first customers, but unfortunately, the service was quite poor. Although there weren’t any other guests seated next to us, it was clear that the staff was inexperienced and still learning the ropes. We waited 20 minutes just to be informed about the tiramisu after we had already placed our dessert order. The staff didn’t seem knowledgeable at all. As more groups arrived after us, it became really difficult to hear each other over the noise."

"If you're in New Orleans for a bachelorette party, you absolutely need to make Justine a part of your itinerary. The ambiance and atmosphere are simply stunning, and the amazing food is simply a bonus! Every member of the waitstaff we encountered was outstanding—friendly, attentive, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. Now let's talk about the food—delicious doesn't even begin to cover it! Our group decided to share our plates family-style to try everything. We savored the Shrimp Grits, Chicken Confit, 8 oz Filet, 14 oz NY Strip, Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Baked Crab Mac, Crispy Chicken Wings, and the Seasonal Vegetable Ricotta. Everything was INCREDIBLE! Each dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and served in generous portions. Justine is a MUST-VISIT spot while you're in New Orleans!"

"Dine in Dinner My wife and I came here consistently for the past five years. We loved it. We even celebrated the day of our engagement here. We’re sad to report that new management bought out the restaurant and fired their fantastic chef. Every dish is now a sad imitation of the original. Overpriced and poorly executed. A once great pasta with red sauce and meatballs? The pasta is overcooked and the meatballs lack seasoning — though they charge $28 for it. The cocktails and wine program. Only four cocktails are listed and the glass of red wine we ordered was body temperature warm. Their fantastic burger? Not on the new menu that’s font now resembles that of an IHOP. I still managed to get the cheeseburger after a veteran staff knew what I wanted but it was noticeable that burger was cooked to lack any crust and an unappetizing grey. These problems aren’t just misfires. They’re structures problems created by a new team with absolutely no idea how to run a kitchen. Our favorite staff are all leaving and the staff that remain know that this ship is sinking. To the new ownership: you ruined a fantastic neighborhood restaurant to make a quick buck. I wish the hurt you’re causing fell on you instead of the hardworking staff. We won’t be coming back — though it hurts deeply to say it."

"This small campus candy shop is really great. While I do agree with some of the previous reviews that the sweets are a bit overpriced, I believe that customers come here for the nostalgia factor, to see sweets from their childhood, or simply for the comfort of having all the sweets in one place. You can select your sweets, put them in a bag, weigh them, and then pay. During my visit yesterday, I paid $3.74 for 1/4 pounds of candy. Some of the regular sweets may be cheaper at Walmart or Target (for example, a candy bar was around $1.59), but this shop is a charming place to admire sweets and remember the treats of your youth. The waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful."

"Wonderful experience here! I am very wary of touristy places in SoBe, however, this was anything but (in the negative sense). The food was excellent. The service was impeccable and I LOVE the fact they have specials pretty much every day, different times of the day. We sat in the garden and it was beautiful back there. I will definitely be recommending this place to people and will also be returning on my trips to Miami. Thank you to team for everything, and big shot out to whoever manages this place. Top tier and authentic. Great variety of food and wine as well.

"The atmosphere of the restaurant is what brought me in. It was a beautifully done restaurant and the service was great. The food looked amazing and the menu was extensive even for people on special diets which I appreciated. I ordered a vegetarian burger since nothing else appealed to me on the brunch menu. My sister ordered a tofu bbq burger which she thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered a side of goat cheese salad which was very small but tasted great. The vegetarian burger was really under cooked, I'm not sure if it was supposed to be but the texture was as if eating through a raw burger, not appetizing at all, and it was falling apart and oozing out of the bun. The same thing happened to my dad so it was not a one time mistake. I wasn't happy with my meal but everyone else was so this restaurant deserves credit for its atmosphere and food other than the vegetarian burger."

"I've been here a few times. They really do have delicious pastries and bread, But I rated their service so low and took a star off for their food because I ordered to go off their website. I got a loaf of bread sliced, and a a breakfast sandwich. The breakfast sandwich was delicious, but the loaf of bread was completely burnt on the bottom. Not just a little burnt. It was black burnt. It ruined the taste of the bread, and I understand that the ovens they cook the bread in is really hot and needs to be to get the outer crust, I don't think that's acceptable to sell to customers. I rated that on the service though because it was the person who made the choice to sell that black burnt bread because I was just picking it up."

"I'm coming to brightwaters deli, but I'm done now. in recent years the pricing has completely overpriced for base-deli sandwiches. it is laughing how much their sandwiches cost. especially if you consider that you cannot get a simple order right. So they pay 2x the price of a normal Deli sandwich and more than 1/2 of the time it is not even the right order. Previously I was the best place to get a sandwich, now I travel 15 minutes to get a sandwich at gemelli in Babylon."

"We had brunch at The Black Cow on Labor Day and don't know if we're going back. It's a shame because the food and drinks are excellent. We had to wait an hour to finally get seated. This long wait always happens. The service was poor and the waiters waitresses were all rushing around to serve people. They were also very noisy. Just watching them stressed us out. Our waitress hurriedly took our order and forgot to bring water to my Son after he asked five times. He had to ask twice for his side order of sausage and for coffee refills. He never got the side order of salsa he asked for. I asked for a refill of soda water and she brought me water. She clearly wasn't doing her job. We spent almost a $100 there and it wasn't a good experience. It seems like the restaurant could benefit with some reorganization and training. Good food is one thing but you won't find good service at The Black Cow."

"We had a pleasant dinner at this restaurant. The buffet was consistently well-stocked and fresh, even later in the evening, which was a great touch! While the variety of food options was decent, it wasn't the most extensive. The staff were attentive and friendly, and we also enjoyed some fantastic live music."

"I had a wonderful experience at Knox Bistro for a business lunch as well as celebrating a friend's birthday. The birthday treat was enjoyable and the food was excellent. As a vegan, I ordered the Le Sud without cheese but with avocado, and it was delicious. I was impressed by the fried broccoli's amazing taste, although I'm not sure what they do to make it so good. WOW!"

"Amazing food but even more amazing people. I picked up my order and when I got home and opened my car door, my chicken parm sandwich threw itself onto the ground. The box exploded open and everything was ruined. I was so upset but I thought, maybe, just maybe, the people of Wealthy Street Bakery would take pity on me if I told them what happened. So I called, and Jim was very kind and understanding and said they'd remake it, no problem. I was so relieved and grateful. My husband loved the chicken parm (once I finally successfully acquired it), and my calzone was absolutely delicious. And of course all the pastries are 10/10. But knowing that they care about their customers and are willing to do something above and beyond when they're not really obligated to means they've got me for life. Oh, and as a side note, I very much appreciate that the staff is still wearing masks thank you for all the care in what you do, Wealthy Street Bakery crew."

"Lazy Days is walking distance from where we are staying and my husband loves their mozzarella sticks so we decided to walk over the other evening. The perk of Lazy Days is by far the ambiance and being able to sit on the water. To be perfectly honest, I found the food to be only okay this time. The service wasn't all that great either. This is the second time we have eaten here although, the previous time we ate inside and the service was amazing. This time, sitting outside it was different but I didn't really care because it was so gorgeous outside. My husband loved his food though both times so I could just not be ordering the right things. For example my son's fries were outstanding and the mozzarella sticks were really good but the crab cake was super wet and didn't seem to have a lot of crab meat. Basically it might be good to stick to some of the more simple or fried options. Can't beat the view though and we will continue to come back!"

"Visiting Key West for a week earlier this month, we wanted a nice dinner close to our hotel on the east end of the island new town , where the choices are limited because most of the restaurants are in the downtown area on the western end old town . Numerous venues came up on a Yelp search, most of which we dismissed because they were either chain-type fastfood or had some negative factors. Matt 's was down the list, possibly because it 's on Stock Island, not the main Key West island. We decided to give it a chance. It 's in the Perry Hotel Marina. It was a good choice. Even though it was a Friday evening, the dining room was nearly empty. Whatever the reason, it wasn 't food or service. My wife tried the she crab soup and said it was very good, while I had the tuna tartare appetizer--excellent. For entree I chose the yellow snapper grits, and it was really good. My wife wanted something not on the menu, shrimp grits. She described what she wanted to our server, who asked the chef whether he could do it, and he was game. It came and she pronounced it very good, thoroughly enjoying it. There was enough for her to take some leftover with us. I had some a couple of nights later at our hotel our suite had a full kitchen , and she was right. I can recommend Matt 's Stock Island Kitchen unreservedly. Prices are reasonable."

"The restaurant is stunning. Every aspect, from the décor and ambiance to the service and food choices, is remarkable. While I don't think sushi quite fits the atmosphere, it's still really delicious. However, I highly suggest steering clear of the chocolate gooey cake; ours was not gooey at all, just stale. Also, be ready for your server to drop the check in the middle of dessert without any prior notice. Overall, I definitely plan to return, but I'm hoping for better desserts next time."
