"**Food:** The menu is impressive, featuring familiar favorites from taco shops, traditional Mexican dishes, and some innovative fusion options. This location also serves alcohol, creating an ambiance more akin to a restaurant than a taco shop, while still maintaining the convenience of quick-service. The complimentary chips alone make me eager to return! Plus, the salsa bar is delightful, offering a wide range of flavors and spice levels. **Service:** What really impressed me was the teamwork on display. While the staff was busy preparing fresh salsa, the cook seamlessly came over to take our orders. Everyone seemed to be working in harmony, resulting in excellent service. **Atmosphere:** The main concern here is parking. The area has several businesses, but the parking space is barely sufficient for just a couple of them, let alone the six or more establishments sharing the lot. The dining area combines the casual vibe of a taco shop with the more refined elements of a Mexican restaurant, featuring some private dining spaces as well as outdoor patio seating. **Final Opinion:** I will definitely be returning, and this place just might become my favorite taco shop in the area!"

I absolutely loved the quesabirria tacos! They were quite affordable, too. Plus, the salsa they offer is fantastic. Food: 5/5

Found this place on a Google search. The Tuesday Taco special (3 tacos Modello beer) were GREAT. Lots of people are doing take-out, but not crowded inside. Great choice for Taco Tuesday.Food: 5/5

The fish tacos were amazingly delicious and the portions were ample. If we return to the area we will definitely return for another delicious meal. Service was also great. It is a small place with only a few tables and outdoor tables as well. View menu

I ordered three cabeza burritos, but there was no cabeza in them at all. Instead, they contained poorly cooked, raw shredded beef. When I called to complain, the staff informed me that this is all they have, which is very low-quality meat. I did not receive what I ordered. Food rating: 1/5.

Given that this place is in the same location as the Roberto's I used to visit at least five times a week while I was in college, it had a lot to live up to. I ordered my usual three roll tacos and a Carne Asada burrito both with no guacamole because I want to taste the food and not just overloaded it with guac. The menu is huge... almost too much to consider including chicken wings with celery, which doesn't seem right in a place like this. The rolled tacos were a little thin, but had plenty of cheese and were very tasty. The burrito was excellent and still makes me think wind places in LA can't replicate this style of Carne Asada. I do miss the large bottles of hot sauce, which have now be...

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
