"I read about Grapevine Farms on the Haunted NY FB page and figured I would stop in when in the nearby area. It's in a pretty isolated area but was not a bad ride from Latham. They have references to the haunted history throughout the store and restaurant but we didn't find anyone that wanted to engage about it. It definitely has a very haunted feel especially upstairs in the shops there was a heavy atmosphere. The shops were fun but way overpriced. The sales woman who helped us was super nice but was really trying to up sell things like glittery jewelry that was just grossly overpriced so that was a bit of a turn off. I did buy a few items but you could easily break the bank, so to speak, as they do have many shops all over the property. The wine cellar was locked. You need to ask an employee to let you in. We were going to visit after lunch but that was such a poor experience that we just left. The cafe is okay. It was very busy when we were there in the early afternoon and they clearly need more staff. We ordered the salmon salad. This was very good. We also tried the barley soup special. Very bland. I had to add a fair bit of pepper and salt to make it taste like anything. I also ordered the quiche special of the day (along with a salad side). The quiche was so overcooked it was like scrambled eggs. I'm surprised they sold it like that with how overdone it was. My dining partner ate it as no one ever came back to check on us. We waited forever for the check. We even piled our plates up and tried to make contact each time any staff walked by and no one stopped. Finally, they were offering a nearby table dessert and remembered us and asked us for dessert but we just wanted the bill at that point. Overpriced, not great quality and way too long to sit there finished. I wouldn't ever return to their cafe."

"I have been going to pizza shack for years because I 'm a local and I like to support local business whenever I can. I went to pizza shack a few months ago, and the owner yelled at me and refused to sell me pizza because somehow my order got confused and I wanted 4 fresh slices of pepperoni pizza and the pizza in the display area was not looking anymore. I asked for fresh 4 pepperoni pizza slices and the person taking my order accidentally put the order in wrong and put in a whole pie instead. When the pizza was done, I asked if I could have the slices now and they kept trying to give me the old slices. I 'm not too picky, but there were flies sitting on a few of the slices and they looked at least 2 hours old. You know how gas station pizza looks after several hours, that 's what it looked like. After getting yelled at that the other pizza was just fine and that I would not be getting the new pizza, I just bought the entire pizza to end the ordeal. The owner threw the pizza at the counter, I paid and left. 6 months later. I decided to give this place a second chance. I admit calling a bit late, it was 8:00 pm. Before I even said anything on the phone, I hear someone say no more pizza and then the phone goes dead. Great, I got hanged up on! Just by hearing the voice, I knew it was the owner again. Food is mediocre at best and service is terrible. Since I can 't give negative stars, I gave one."
