"Used to live across the street and this was a go-to when we needed a fun meal, and it's great to see that this place is doing great business (at least on the Friday night we went)! It's everything you want from a teppanyaki place, the performing chefs are always funny af and do a great job, and the atmosphere is great for anything from birthday dinner to date night.Love this spot, takes me back to fun dinners at Ron of Japan as a kid (but is way better than the RoJ on Ontario)."

Tobiko sushi rice is hella dry! Unsure if it was premade like hours ago. The volcano roll is fine, nothing special; it's chunks of avocado and fish, wrapped, battered, and friedChicken hibatchi plate was overcookedLarge venue, at least 5 grills on the side, bar in the back.

I’ve been here with a large group and also by myself, and I’ve had great experiences every time. The food is delicious with huge portions, and everyone who works there is kind and accommodating. The teppanyaki meals come with noodles, and that’s always a fun bonus in my opinion, too!

Food was mediocre at best. The ginger salad dressing had an off taste and was chunky, not smooth as most other hibachi restaurants. The Sakura sushi roll was decent but as far as flavor goes the rest of the meal was severely lacking. Service was great, however they do automatically add a 18% gratuity to the bill so beware of that. View menu

Had a blast at the hibachi table with a group of 4 that included kids! They have a kids menu which was great and still was essentially the same amount if food as the adult portions. I tried the salmon which came with 2 filets. It was great and there was plenty to take home for leftovers. The service was great and the kiddos loved the show!

This place has been for a decade or more. The atmosphere and service has always been spectacular. I usually sit at the bar and have immediate service and great conversation if you wish for it. The food is amazing. I tend to stick to the rolls. While there are a lot of fried rolls thier fresh fish is exactly that and clean. I tend to lean toward their volcano and eel avocado rolls. Their tiger and catapiler is amazing too.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
