"During my travels, I found myself in Carlin, NV, where I stumbled upon the State Inn Cafe and Bar. This establishment used to be famous for its fantastic breakfasts, but nowadays, Saturday nights are all about Steak Night! I enjoyed a delicious ribeye steak paired with a sweet red wine, 7 Moons, all graciously provided by Robert, Christine, and Chris. If you’re in the area, be sure to stop by for great food and friendly people. They offer a bar, karaoke, and a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend for a delightful dinner experience!"

This is a fantastic place for breakfast. The western omelette was excellent, and the hash browns were notably exceptional. The coffee was also good. I'm definitely planning to return!

I have to say that I didn’t even get the chance to eat here. When we walked in, we weren’t greeted at all. The strong smell of cigarettes inside was overwhelming. We decided to leave right away. I just couldn’t imagine enjoying a meal with that odor… yuck!

My Husband and I attended a benefit located at this Lounge. The building is old, but it's so full of character. The owners were on site during the entire event and were more than helpful to the group who hosted the benefit. It was heartwarming to see how helpful and accommodating they were!

I had a wonderful experience at this charming little diner. The place was clean, the service was friendly, and the food was outstanding! I ordered the French dip, and it was probably the best I've had in a very long time. The au jus was excellent. Thank you, Keith, for a fantastic meal! Food: 5 / Service: 5 / Atmosphere: 5 View menu

My wife and I stopped in to try their breakfast. I had chicken fried steak with eggs, country potatoes and sourdough toast. Everything was very good even the coffee. My wife had the two egg breakfast which included bacon and potatoes.... she said possibly the best bacon she has ever had eating out. You could tell this is a small town cafe because of certain way they prepare their food. The waitress was nice pretty attentive.

I arrived at the truck stop feeling tired and hungry. The only options available were Subway and gas station snacks, so I decided to walk across the street to the café. It turned out to be a special Friday night; they only serve dinner every other Friday, and the menu featured just ribeye steaks. I have to say, it was one of the best ribeyes I've had during my travels. I will definitely be coming back! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and I really appreciated the hospitality.

"I thought Elko was the smallest town I 've ever visited in the US when I first stepped off the plane and exited the tiny airport building. I stayed in Elko for 2 nights but my work assignment actually took place in Carlin, which seemed like a ghost town upon my arrival. There were literally 3 or 4 restaurants in this town, and surprisingly one of them was Chinese. The only day it snowed in Carlin/Elko wasn 't my arrival day or departure day, but the one day I had to spend outdoors counting inventory. Coming from the tropical humid weather of Houston, I did not enjoy this snow that wasn 't even enough for me to build a snowman. So to warm ourselves up, the team unanimously chose the Chinese restaurant in hopes of finding some hot soup to rejuvenate our frozen souls. TBH I had my doubts regarding the authenticity of this Chinese restaurant, given diversity was basically non-existent in Elko/Carlin. But lo and behold the owner was actually a Chinese lady, and my faith was immediately restored. A lot of Americanized dishes like Mongolian Beef and General Tso 's Chicken on the menu (surprise surprise), but fortunately there was a wonton soup available. I went with the War version since I was pretty hungry. The War Wonton Soup had about 50 ingredients which made it a bit weird. Never had celery, cabbage, snow peas, shrimp, and chicken with my wontons before lol. But the soup was hot and flavorful, and the wontons were pretty genuine. #269"
