"One of the better spots in the area for Chinese. Most of the dishes are fairly americanized, but you probably aren't going to find much else in this area in terms of authenticity, and I give this place credit for consistent quality, particularly their fried rice. The lunch specials are pretty reasonably priced for the portion size, which is getting harder to find these days. Some of the larger entrees are probably better but not as wallet-friendly. Service and the somewhat depressing interior though are what lowers the rating for me. Seat cushions are ripped and not stable, tables and dishes aren't clean, and is tough to get ahold of servers. I'll probably come back every once in a while since it's close to my work, but that might be more due to the relative lack of asian restaurants in the area."

The food is great and authenticity Chinese. The take out in the weekends though does take a long time

My favorite Chinese restaurant! I've been going here since I was a kid in the 90s. I live in LA now and always make sure to go back when I'm in town. The Cold Sesame Noodles are my absolute favorite of all time.

We were pleasantly surprised by this place. Looking in from the outside it seems tired and worn but if you look past the appearance the food is really delicious. We enjoyed their fried wontons, shrimp and veggies and lomain. View menu

We called in a large order and were told to be there in 45 minutes. Once we arrived, we had to wait a full HOUR AND 15 MINUTES for our meal. No one seemed to care how long we were waiting. In other places, we would at least be served some tea while waiting. The meal itself was incredibly disappointing bland, tasteless. We will not be back.

The wonton soup was INEDIBLE. I called the restaurant last night (2/10/22) to tell them. The mai fun was okay. I will never go here again. The meat inside of the wontons tasted like roadkill The reviews praising this eatery are from 8 years ago. Maybe 8 years ago it was better. this place STUNK (PS) I live in Bernards Twp, not New Providence

Honestly their food is just great. Terrific classic Szechuan food. We got the lo mein, fried rice, hot and sour soup, General Tso's and egg drop soup with wontons. Everything was yummy and hit the spot except the egg group soup, which was too cornstarchy and just not that flavorful. This place is a staple and definitely a go to if you are craving old school Chinese food. View menu

Poor service, food was barely fair but the price led me to the review, I picked up the order and the order somewhat demanded a tip along with a fee for the Credit Card, I did bypass the tip option but then after checking out there was a FEE- a fee for what, I was just charged a credit card fee of 3% that was fine but a fee for processing... sorry that's not except able. I will not use this service again. And to justify my actions, I did use this restaurant in the past and was not happy with every aspect of it's business. Save yourself a trip.

While the food is just mediocre, Americanized Chinese food, the service is horrific. I have h to write this review, but the service is consistently (not a one time event) bad. We typically get take out. They tell me a half hour and o have at times had to wait 45 min or an hour. If they would be honest in their time estimation, they would be doing customers a favor. Don 't lie!! They also have on a couple occasions forget items, so be sure to check your order before you leave the restaurant. Too bad this town only has a couple Chinese restaurants. That 's what 's keeping them in business.

"We have been eating here for years. The food and service is always good! However, it was not our experience Friday night (7/30/21). We were seated outside. It was not clear who our server was. We brought a bottle of wine… the waitress only brought one glass of wine because it was the only one available. As per her, they did not have enough glasses for the clients that were at the time dining. 10 minutes later we called another waiter and asked for another glass of wine and if they could open the bottle. The service was extremely poor. I lost track of how many times we needed to call a waiter to ask for the basics when you are dinning. They only served us water at the beginning (only once), dirty dishes were not remove from the table… no one came to check on us or make sure if the food was okay. Every single table around us was complaining. We saw a couple that were seated and 15 minutes later left because no one came to take their order, not even to bring them water. We really like the food of this restaurant, but we do not understand why they are seating so many people outside if they do not have the staff to serve them. If there is a labor shortage you need to plan accordingly, maybe you need to reduce the number of tables you are trying to serve at the same time. Dining should be a pleasurable experience… it is sad that the poor service and poor management impacted what was supposed to be a good time."

"Went here for dinner on a Friday night and was seated right away. The owner, Sonny, came over and greeted us. He was kind and so welcoming. The decor is pretty and and cute for date nights. We ordered the mango shrimp appetizer, samosas, butter chicken a side of garlic naan. Mango lassi and ginger chai for drinks. I asked for brown sugar for my ginger chai which they didn't have but Sonny went out of his way to get them for me from another store. Exceptional service! Mango shrimp 9/10: shrimp was fresh and firm. Sauce was so good! Missing a bit of depth but honestly still really good and would reorder! Samosas 10/10: initially we ordered the chicken samosas but we were given the vegetarian ones but honestly it was so good that we didn't even mind it. Sonny came over and personally apologized for the mistake. The vegetarian samosas were served on a bed of chickpeas in a kind of sauce and it was *chefs kiss*. Definitely would recommend! Butter chicken 10/10: I've only had butter chicken twice and this is honestly the best. It's flavorful (not salty) and the chicken is so buttery (soft and juicy). Garlic naan 8/10: a bit too soft but was still really good and garlicky; I prefer my naan a bit more crisp. If you like naan on the softer side, it would be perfect for you. Nonetheless, it's still so good for dipping in the butter chicken. Overall, Sonny's kitchen is 5 and a 10/10 would highly recommend. The food is probably one of the best Indian food I've had and the service was unmatched. We already want to go back and try other dishes!!"
