"The food was good, even if the sushi rice was on the mushy side. The service was great, very accommodating and attentive. The sushi chef was somewhat forgetful and did not have a good system to track who has been served what since there's no timed seating and there are 3 different menu sets. He was visibly frazzled trying to keep count a couple of people complained that they did not get all the pieces (in each case he was apologetic and more that made up for what was missing. He was also somewhat messy, with rice and ginger flying all over whenever he flicks his hands, and can all see bits of fish stuck to his big note book (where he unsuccessfully keeps track of orders."

Takeshi San is a sushi artist ! I had a wonderful meal there the best sushi I had in New York. Ambiance is very simple, and its classic sushi only, dont ask or expect fancy fusion or fancy decor for true sushi amateurs only.

In short, Takeshi Sushi offers a wide array of exceptional sushi delicately prepared by Takeshi at the inviting 11-seater. There is a very reasonable selection of sake to go along with sushi like the luxuriously delectable uni-scallop hand roll as well as wagyu beef. I would return happily again and again if I didn't live 1,000 miles away.
