"Here are a few quick notes: **Parking:** Good luck! This is San Francisco, so you’re better off finding public parking and walking to the restaurant. If you happen to be near Civic Center, that should work out well. **Seating:** There is no seating area here; it’s a grab-and-go spot with counter service. Since it was my first time, I felt a bit unsure when I approached the counter and the guy preparing food told me, “You can start your order!” I hesitated, unsure of what to do, but thankfully another staff member stepped in to take my order. You simply come to the counter and tap or type in what you’d like. If you’re familiar with the menu, you’ll be just fine. **Food:** They offer vegetarian and vegan options, and you can customize your falafel however you wish. I decided to try the chicken shawarma. It was okay; I really enjoyed the pita bread and all the toppings, but I’m still unsure about the chicken itself. I might need to give it another shot. **Service:** There were only two staff members, but they were friendly and worked quickly. Despite five people being ahead of me in line, my order was ready in about 10 minutes. Overall, I’d say it’s worth a visit, especially if you're in the mood for a quick bite!"

Tried the spicy flying falafel pita pocket with the super combo meal. Good size portions. The falafels could have more salt. Great fries. #localguides

All vegan food and fast service even though the line was pretty long. My favorite is the vegan baklava (a must try! . Very friendly service and it is nice to see them prepare your food in front of you.

Great place for quick and delicious falafel! The falafel in pita is a TON of food. The fries are good but unless you're starving you really don't need them. There's a bench outside to sit on with limited room so if you're coming here it's probably a bit nicer to sit down and eat somewhere else. View menu

Very small shop with limited options, mostly just falafel and fries with desserts. For almost $8 the falafel pocket was fresh and tasty. The price is a bit steep since you have no choices of what's inside. The wait isn't long so I would recommend as a quick bite before a show. There are no meat options, only falafel.

Flying Falafel is one of the few remaining restaurants in San Francisco that provides meals that fulfill the trifecta of being satisfying, delicious, and healthy. As someone who enjoys eating, I often find it difficult to finish any of the various meals offered at Flying Falafel. The staff is exceptionally friendly, particularly the person at the checkout counter.

This is a very small establishment with a limited menu, primarily featuring falafel and fries, along with some desserts. The falafel bag, priced at nearly $8, was fresh and tasty. While the price may seem a bit high since you have no customization options, the wait time is short. I would recommend this spot for a quick bite before a show, but keep in mind that there are no meat options available—only falafel. View menu

Wow! There’s an incredible, affordable vegan falafel and mock meat spot right in the heart of San Francisco. The staff were incredibly friendly and took the time to explain the menu. They even let me sample a bit of the mock meat, which was delicious, by the way. Although seating is limited, it’s perfect for takeout if you can find a nice sunny spot in a nearby park to enjoy your meal. I’ll definitely return before I leave San Francisco. A big thank you to the team for being so helpful today!

Great service! Staff was super nice and helpful, which I really appreciate. I personally didn’t love the food I ordered, although my husband did. I had the hummus plate with falafel. It was nice but unfortunately they added spicy sauce to it which I didn’t order. Falafel was good but hummus could be tastier. The pita bread it comes with could be toasted, that would make it nicer. Fries were really good! It’s a good option if you want a vegan quick bite but personally I’m not a fan. Anyway, try it yourself because you may like it as my husband did!

"Earlier this year Salty 's was featured in one of the top 100 places to eat in the Bay Area in 2022, and after trying it a couple times, it 's easy to see why. Quality and flavor, great customer service, it checks all those boxes. I occasionally visit the 24 hour fitness on Van Ness, and Salty 's happens to be just few short blocks away which makes it perfect when I 'm looking for a post-workout sandwich. And for those that know me, I love me my sandwiches. On my latest visit, I decided to go with the 'Glorious B sandwich, which come with turkey, bacon, avocado, pepper jack, veggies, and garlic mayo. The blend of flavors and high quality of the turkey is no wonder it 's at the very top of the menu list. It 's one of those sandwiches, that you can bring to park and not need a ton of napkins to get through. It was well put together, with the ratio of all the ingredients matching well. Nothing overpowering, just sandwich perfection. The size of the sandwich I thought was the perfect size for my appetite. As I 've gotten older I can 't put down as much food as I used to, and after one-half I knew I could 've stopped eating, be content, saved the rest for later. But of course I ate the whole thing and nothing sounds better than taking a quick power nap right after. I love that their menu has so many different sandwich combinations, so definitely take time to check their menu before calling-in/walking-in to order because it 'll definitely save you some time. On my latest visit, I was in and out in 10 minutes. Definitely towards the top of my list of sandwiches in this part of town!"
