"I am a regular customer of this restaurant, primarily due to the good food. However, the overall service is lacking. This isn't my first experience with subpar customer service at the Urban Crab Shack. On March 24th, I placed an online order, and the estimated pick-up time was 20 minutes. When I arrived, a gentleman politely asked if I was there to pick up or order. Upon telling him I was there to pick up, I provided my name and order number. He checked the system but couldn’t find my order. After checking with the kitchen, he returned and asked for my name again. Following that, he informed me that my order must have been lost due to a system issue and offered to take my order again. While I was disappointed, I accepted it. I presented my email receipt, and he assured me he would place my order. I expressed my concern about whether he had everything and suggested he jot it down, but he insisted he remembered all the details. Unconvinced, I took a slip of paper from my purse, wrote down my order, and handed it to him. He barely glanced at my note and reiterated that he had everything under control. I warned him that if I got home and anything was missing, I wouldn't be satisfied. Upon arriving home and opening my meal, I discovered—surprise—NO SAUSAGE! This was the second time I had ordered online and the sausage was missing. When I attempted to call the restaurant to address the issue, I encountered more frustration: my call went straight to voicemail, which was full, so I couldn't leave a message. This is why I'm compelled to write this review! Despite the quality food, I will likely hesitate before returning to Urban Crab Shack, as it may not be my first choice anymore. There’s a clear need for improvement in customer care and service, as my experience has indicated that the waitstaff could benefit from better training. During a visit on March 18th for lunch with my sisters, our waiter, while friendly, was not well trained—a situation I had encountered before with him. He is a genuinely nice young man and I believe he has potential with the right training. I tipped generously because I appreciate his effort, and I chose not to provide negative feedback directly, as I didn’t want to discourage him. As the owner, I urge you to invest in proper training for your staff. I can't be the only customer who has faced these challenges. You have a lovely establishment, and I’m sure you want it to thrive. Just imagine how wonderful it could be with every table filled and customers eagerly waiting to be seated. Please address these areas in need of improvement. Consider providing your staff with the training they clearly need."

Avoid going at noon when they're supposed to open, as they are never on time. Never.

The restaurant suffers from a lack of staff, and those who are on duty seem to spend more time taking breaks outside than attending to customers.

Bar was packed but too many empty tables. Walking in I started to turn around because it was somewhat empty but the vibe of the people present filled the room. My food was ready fast enough and was very tasty. Will be back.

I ordered the cream of crab and Maryland crab soup, and both were absolutely delicious. Each container was filled enough for two meals, making it a great value. I will definitely order again—it's the best crab soup I've ever had!

This place is decent. The seafood boil was okay. The only twist I liked was the noodles. The nmussle tasted like sea. The shrimp was bland. I didnt taste any real seasoning like old bay or garlic. The drinks were good the Peach Henny and Long Island. Our waiter kept disappearing. We saw him in the back kitchen on his cell phone. We had keep asking the other waiter to get our waiter. It was horrible customer service. Never checked on us or nothing. I won't be going back. I pay for food quality and experience customer service).

This restaurant is average. The seafood boil was just okay. The only thing I enjoyed was the noodles. The mussels had a strong sea flavor, but the shrimp was tasteless. I didn't notice any real seasoning, like Old Bay or garlic. The drinks were good, particularly the Peach Henny and Long Island. However, our waiter kept disappearing; we even saw him in the back on his cell phone. We had to keep asking another waiter to find him. The customer service was terrible—he never checked on us or anything. I won't be returning, as I expect good food and quality customer service for what I pay.

"The food is 1 star because I never got it The service is 1 star because the worker in the drive through was either on the phone or talking with a coworker in her headset, laughing in my face asking me the same question multiple times because she couldn’t hear me over her conversation. the atmosphere is a 1 because I placed my order in the mobile app , paid, and headed to the restaurant got here about 6 min after breakfast ended, got in the drive through just for that same worker to tell me all breakfast orders have been canceled (after finishing up her conversation of course). But it never got cancelled in my app.i wouldn’t have kept driving here if I had seen my order had been cancelled. So either the system connecting the store to the app is flawed or they didn’t feel like making my order. talked to the manager, he was completely oblivious I had to re explain everything to him like 5 times and he was still No. Help. At. All. It sounds like he may be new and that’s fine but he may need more training or maybe he just didn’t care to help. I had to drive off pull over elsewhere and cancel my order myself because IT WAS NEVER CANCELLED !!!! And after all that what is just blowing my mind the most is the drive through worker talking to someone else while I’m trying to tell her the name for my order. Like hello?? I’m invisible? Oh ok got it. I didn’t know I developed a superpower while sitting in this drive through line. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"Overall, the restaurant has seen a decline since COVID hit. Before the pandemic, it was a balanced restaurant and carryout spot, but now it feels more like a carryout place with limited dining options. This change might explain why they didn't renew their liquor license, which means if you dine in, you won't have any beer to enjoy with your ribs—doesn't that feel a bit un-American? The atmosphere has shifted as well; it's no longer vibrant or inviting, making it less appealing to sit and enjoy a meal. While I was there for lunch with about a dozen others, the meat dishes were outstanding, receiving a solid 5/5. The people who had the fried fish, both whiting and catfish, found it perfectly cooked. Those who ordered ribs really enjoyed their meal and still had leftovers to take home. The pulled pork was equally satisfying. However, some sides were disappointing, scoring only a 3/5. I wouldn't recommend the mac and cheese, which was a messy, greasy disaster. The fried cabbage also missed the mark for me. On the other hand, the fried pork skins were excellent; they were complimentary for our group, and I would gladly pay over $5 for them again. If you plan to eat in, I recommend calling ahead to make a reservation or discuss your options, as the staff mentioned they don’t accept walk-ins. Our waiter did an excellent job, especially considering it was his first time, and the whole team worked well together to accommodate us."
