"This restaurant is absolutely BOMB. I have been looking high and low for an authentic and REAL Vietnamese restaurant, and I found Vans from googling. To the review below mine, they cut the tops of the containers bc the broth is scorching hot and theydon?t want it to melt the plastic. You need to be careful how you transport it in the bag. This is pho lady, not McDonald?s. The food is delicious, the broth is tasty, and they package everything so nicely. The spring rolls are delicious too. This is mygo-to place. I?ve been back a few times and will continue!!!"

I said I'd go back, and I have Mainly for their very aromatic and high quality pho.

Spring rolls are very delicious and crunchy. The vermicelli pork is okay. The meat was a little dry.

Van's has a few vegan options on the menu and I've enjoyed the ones I've tried. The foods are fresh and seasoning is flavorful and a bit spicy. It is a little pricey but the portions are huge--like 2-3 servings on one plate. I love the tofu steak--my favorite! That sauce is super yum. View menu

There is a part in the menu dedicated to the vegetarian meal. The food was really good and very big in portion. Each dishes is meant to be shared among the eaters. The taste wasn't too oily or heavy, staff were reasonably helpful. They have the best hot and sour soup that i ever had in North America!

we have been with van many times and tried all their sweet dishes. they are in order, but I found my favorites to be the simple tofu curry. it is comfort eating and a huge portion. my man loves the pho, especially when he is sick. it is hard to find vegan pho in albany, as many do not use veg broth, so this is a precious stone.

As someone who works for an airline and loves good food, I can say this spot has the best Vietnamese food around. The pho is incredible, with a rich and flavorful broth. The Com/Bún Bo Nióng beef dish with peanuts is another must-try, packed with fresh ingredients and amazing flavors. If you're craving authentic Vietnamese food, this is the place to go! View menu

The food was so good here. The service was quick and the staff are very friendly attentive. I only gave the atmosphere 4/5 stars since I think it was a little empty inside, decoration wise but other than that it would be a 5! If you want authentic Vietnamese cuisine please come here. The coconut pudding (a dessert that was only $3!!! is to die for (I forgot the name of it .

Yummy! They serve authentic Vietnamese dishes. I ordered pho and pork with vermicelli. The pho is not too salty nor overly flavorful, but it's just right to enjoy. The vermicelli dish with pork is really huge with a nice Vietnamese flavor (lemongrass and a bit of fish sauce). I love this vermicelli dish!! Iced coffee with condensed milk is awesome as well. Highly recommended!

"We had requested the rounded corner booth in the main dining room and arrived 20 minutes early, planning to enjoy a cocktail at the bar. But instead, we were seated at a booth right next to our preferred one. A couple finished their meal shortly after we sat down, well before our 6:30 reservation. We ordered a Beefeater gin and tonic and a very dry Beefeater martini. Both drinks had an unusual, perfume-like scent that was quite off-putting. My wife sent her drink back, and I decided to switch to a Bombay martini, but the same strange floral fragrance persisted. I regularly enjoy Beefeater and Bombay dry martinis and have never experienced this odd aftertaste before. For my main course, the Duck and Porcini confit ragu had hardly any duck in it. There were only a few shreds of duck meat hidden in the tagliatelle, but no substantial pieces. My wife’s Pesto and Shrimp dish arrived swimming in a broth. While this might be a traditional way to serve it, there was no mention of broth on the menu. She had expected the pesto to be coated on the pasta and oily, rather than soupy. As much as we have loved Capriccio over the past three decades, this experience was disappointing. We didn't even stay for dessert. We'll certainly return, but I hope to avoid writing another negative review. I usually don’t share my thoughts unless absolutely necessary, but I felt compelled to do so this time."
