"The bread, which tasted homemade, and the salads with the house dressing were delightful. The oysters were fresh and briny—exactly what we hoped for. The baked clams, while nice, could have used a pinch of salt or some grated cheese, and an extra minute under the broiler for better browning. They served whole clams rather than chopped ones, which was a plus, but they needed a touch more seasoning. I ordered the fish special, which consisted of flounder and shrimp francese served with lobster ravioli and spinach. The ravioli, unfortunately, had a distinct crab flavor rather than lobster, but the flounder, shrimp, and spinach were well-prepared. Another dish we ordered was the seafood fra diavolo. This was a mix-up on our part, as we mistakenly ordered it thinking it was shrimp fra diavolo, which isn’t on the menu. While the waitress could have clarified our order, the good news is they made a special off-menu shrimp diavolo for us. Regrettably, it was nearly inedible; the sauce tasted raw and undercooked, and the pasta was unsalted and overcooked. The shrimp were fine, but we struggled to finish even half of the dish. Overall, I believe that if you pay attention to the menu, you can have an enjoyable meal here. They’ve been in business for 30 years for a reason, and the service was friendly too."

This was my first time dining here, and I thoroughly enjoyed the main course, which included lasagna, meatballs, and sausage. The sauce was especially delightful. However, I wasn't a fan of the tiramisu. The portion sizes were generous too; I had leftovers for two days! I will definitely return. View menu

A charming Italian restaurant located just off the main road in Oyster Bay. We walked in on a Friday night without a reservation, but it was quite busy, so I recommend making a reservation to be on the safe side! The food arrived relatively quickly given how full the restaurant was. However, the service could use some improvement; we never received drink refills, despite our cups being empty. Additionally, there was a bit too much ice in the drinks, which made the sodas taste watered down. The bolognese was enjoyable, and I would order it again.

The oysters were fantastic, but that was the highlight of our meal. The main dishes, particularly the fish, were frozen, overcooked, and lacked flavor. The pasta and eggplant were smothered in cheese, overshadowing the dish's intended flavors; all we could taste was the overcooked pasta and cheese, despite the dish being meant to showcase the eggplant. The service was good, but we didn’t visit the restaurant for that. We were hungry and unfortunately left unsatisfied. It's a shame to say this, but I might return just for the fresh oysters, as it seems the chef can't go wrong with them since they're served raw. View menu

Takeout Meal Type: Dinner Price Range per Person: $30–50 Recommended Dishes: Lobster Ravioli, Fried Artichoke Hearts, Caesar Salad, Meatballs If you're looking for a delightful dinner option, this restaurant is a great choice. The price per person falls between $30 and $50, making it quite reasonable for the quality of food you receive. I highly recommend trying the Lobster Ravioli, which is rich and flavorful. The Fried Artichoke Hearts are a must-try as well; they are crispy and delicious. Don’t miss out on the Caesar Salad, which is fresh and well-dressed, and the Meatballs, which are hearty and satisfying. Overall, you'll enjoy a wonderful meal with these standout dishes!

We were eager to try a new restaurant and decided to visit on Mother's Day, but unfortunately, we were left disappointed. The place was not crowded, which was a plus, but it took quite a while for us to be seated, despite having a reservation and plenty of open tables. There were three adults and two children in our party. When we finally got a server, it took some time for her to take our drink orders, and we had hoped to place our entire order when she returned. I specifically requested that the children's meals be expedited, but they ended up waiting until the main dishes were ready. When the chicken fingers finally arrived, they were overcooked and almost burnt. Overall, the food was jus...

"Attended my first Elite Yelp event at the Mill Creek Tavern in Bayville. I attended other events as a plus one but this was better because now I was elite and I already knew some of the players like my friend Bill S who introduced me to this wonderful world of Yelp. What makes these events great to me are the friendly yelpers who attend with their honest fair reviews and most important is the generous hospitality of the restaurant owners. Once we arrived the Mill Creek Tavern Staff had everything prepared waiting for us. We started with their specialty drinks, Dark and Stormy, Pumpkin Ale and Sang-Rose with sorbet. My fav was the dark and stormy, Black Rum, Pumpkin Beer and Lime Juice. Then all the samples of food came out, Filet Mignon Crostini, Seafood Ceviche, Mussels Provençale, Sauerbraten Short Rib Sliders, Jager Schnitzel Sliders, Pan Seared Sea Scallops, Mac Cheese, Brat in a Blanket, Pretzel Baked Brie, Burrata Crostini, Shrimp Cocktail and Artichoke Risotto Cakes. There was so much to choose from, It was like cocktail hour at a weeding and the food just kept coming. Then desert, I was already full at this point but of course had to try. Berries Cream, Chocolate Mouse, Mini Purple Cow Floats and Mini Brownie Sundays. All were delicious. The event went fast, everyone was enjoying themselves socializing, eating and experiencing great service. The staff didn't miss a beat, they just kept coming out with food being efficient, friendly and courteous, even the owner Rich came out and not only served food he also mingled with us speaking to everyone and making sure we had everything we needed. This was a great time seemed to be had by all. I know a lot goes into this planning one of theses events. I am grateful for the Rich, the owner for opening up his restaurant to us, the staff for just great services and to Drew for organizing this. Mill Creek Tavern is a great place to eat, not only is the food really good, the décor is very pleasing, they even have a fireplace. One can enjoy this restaurant year round. I will return and would definitely recommend dining here."

"We heard rave reviews about Hunter The Restaurant where we decided to celebrate Father?s Day. The restaurant is small but spacious which gives you that intimate cozy ambiance and elegant decor. We were greeted warmly and was immediately seated to our table since we made reservations for 4 people. They served complimentary bread, olives and prosciutto ham which wasn?t too salty and melted like butter. It was a good combination to dip the bread on the broth that came withthe spicy steamed clams of White Wine, Garlic, Cilantro, Serrano Chilies appetizer. For the main course we ordered and shared the dry aged porterhouse for 2 with a side of french fries, broccoli rabe and sauce béarnaise. We also orderedthe Paella Española with Prawns, Clams, Calamari and Cod for 2. The items are familiar enough to feel comfortable, yet unique enough to provide an unforgettable culinary experience. We ordered multiple desserts starting with the (1)strawberry shortcake with fresh berries, (2) Apple Galette, (3) Ricotta Cheesecake with Raspberries, (4) Mango Créme Caramel, (5) Pistachio Parfait, (6) Vanilla Sorbet. Each dessert were beautiful, inventive, seasonal, and poetic. Ourserver Francisco and his team was professional, very accommodating, and knowledgeable. We even met the young innovative Chef Hunter so we can pay our compliments. He explained how everything is handmade and nothing is frozen except for theice cream. He was also nice enough to pose a picture with us too. Overall the food and service was truly impeccable. I hate to use that word and sound pretentious, but I don't know what else to say--they were incredible!"
