"This is our favorite place for Mexican cuisine. The food is excellent, and the restaurant is always clean. We visited on a Saturday and enjoyed some live acoustic guitar music that wasn’t overpowering. I was also impressed by how well the staff sang "Happy Birthday"—a band came out with a violin and guitar to serenade some of the birthday tables. My kids love the games they have available, like tic-tac-toe, Connect 4, and cornhole, and we never have to wait for a table. My husband ordered the steak fajitas, which were mostly meat, unlike some places that load them up with peppers and onions. We always have a great time dining here."

We hosted a retirement party for my aunt and uncle, and the restaurant did an outstanding job! We had a private area, and the staff was attentive with drinks. The food was delicious, too!

Unexpected luxury during a quick stop. While traveling, we popped into what we figured what would be a hole-in-the-wall place. The decor and atmosphere instantly set it apart. We were impressed by the modern ambiance and large menu. Plus everything was top notch! We got the crab and shrimp quesadilla and the enchiladas. The skinny margarita is super great (not too stiff and not too sweet) It's worth a stop!

On our second visit to Bernheim Forest, we returned to El Maguey for dinner and drinks, and it was yet another fantastic experience! The tamales appetizer was delicious and exactly what we were craving. The tacos were also fantastic, with fresh seafood and amazing sauces. We loved the new jalapeño margaritas so much that they’ve earned a spot on our cocktail menu at home! This is definitely a favorite weekend getaway on our list! View menu

We were in Brooks KY on a business trip and randomly chose this restaurant for dinner one night because it was close and we were hungry. What a pleasant surprise! It 's located in a strip mall and I wasn 't expecting much, but once we walked in, wow! It 's a beautiful space inside. The food was delicious and plenty of it. Service was great too. We will definitely remember this one the next time we 're in town. P. S. You know the happy birthday ensemble that is usually annoying in most restaurants? This one is actually pretty enjoyable.

We stopped here on our way down to Nashville since it was Cinco De Mayo and I am so glad we did. We only had to wait about 15 minutes. We got sat pretty quickly and the place was decorated and there was live music. It was really welcoming. We got our drinks right away and they came in these large canisters that were perfect! We never needed refills!!! I got a burrito and others at my table got a form of tacos and we all loved our food. We got the regular queso and beef queso and both were delicious. They had a bit of a kick which we enjoyed.

"We got there and a guy (Hispanic) and girl (african american) were standing there. The guy looked at us and I said hello seating for 2 he looks at girl and walks away. Girl grabs 2 menus lead us to table and leaves no hi, how u doing? nothing. Next our waitress comes tall (latino) girl takes out order. No greeting like hello my name is so and so. Nothing. When I would say thank you no your welcome. Again nothing. There was a lady standing at back against the wall by entry to kitchen and I asked her for bbq sauce she proceeded to walk toward kitchen and tell I'm assuming our waitress loudly they want BBQ sauce and then walked back to the wall she was holding up doing nothing. One guy(white) did pass by and ask us how we were doing. The food is good especially their steak sandwich but the service sucks!. It's like they hate they job and act like your bothering them just being there. They are very rude and no personality. I'm not expecting a song and dance but some form of customer service is appreciated. I really felt like not tipping but still tipped 11 dollars on a 55 dollar bill. By the way it was not busy there was only one other couple eating in restaraunt and the only reason I'm indicating their ethnicity is because I've don't have their names and if management reads this maybe they will know who I'm taking about. This backend on Sunday around 4:15p.m."
