"It's one of my favorite coffee shops in ventura! My go-to order is their chai latte. It has real flavor and isn't watered down with milk. I come here early in the mornings when I get off work, and I appreciate them being one of the few coffee places open at 7am. Their empanadas are also delicious. I've taken home several. The owners are very kind people, and I've never had any issue with my drinks."

"This place has something for everyone. They have SO many specials, two menus for lunch specials, then if you miss this they have an early dinner special as well as regular dinner specials, special chef's dinner, low fat menus (food is steamed and you can choose the sauce which you can add on yourself) and dim sum (biggest sui mai) I've ever seen, they have northern Chinese dishes and traditional Cantonese dishes (like egg foo young, which someone called an omelette LOL. Although not the healthiest for people ordering from the healthy menu when you order a dinner vs a la carte, you get a wonton skin appetizer which are like tortilla chips you get in Mexican restaurant which will take the edge off your appetite until you get your entrees. Also not on the menu, they do something that Chinese restaurants used to do, which is serve you a pot of tea, jasmine, which they give you without charge ! They put the money in portion size (large amount of meat) not in the overhead as the place is very simple.Want to address some criticisms, someone claimed that their dish only have celery, the menu describes what vegetables are in the dishes, if you get one that just says vegetables, you will get a large variety that includes mini corn, mushrooms and water chestnuts ! They do have a photo menu in the restaurant posted but a HUGE printed one. Unlike another review there is NO brewery below but they DO serve liquor. And they are very pleasant and I have the feeling if you are unhappy about something they will please you,"

"I used to come to this restaurant with confidence that the food would be consistently good. However, in recent visits, the quality has severely declined. My mother and I typically order the same items, but they have been lacking in quality lately. The California rolls were poorly made with barely any rice on the sides. One time they even forgot the avocado and substituted seaweed with soy paper, charging us extra for the mistake. We were extremely disappointed when we found a plastic lid in our ramen, and although the owner promised to comp the dish, we were only given a 20% discount after it was replaced. All of these issues occurred during one visit, leading us to decide to find another place to dine. While the wait staff is excellent and efficient, the management and food quality control are lacking. This restaurant used to be great, but it seems they have fallen short. I would not recommend this place for Japanese cuisine unless they improve their standards or hire better chefs."

"The food we ordered was amazing. The Gobi Manchurian and mango lassi were perfect. What sets this place apart is the fresh quality of the ingredients used in their dishes. As an Indian, I found the food to have a homely style of cooking, and having visited Nepal three times, I can say the flavors and aroma were very similar to Thakali-style (Nepali thali), like it was prepared by a local Nepali lady in a serene Himalayan valley dhaba (cafe). The hosts are very welcoming, and the atmosphere is authentic, reflecting traditional Nepali Buddhist architecture. The restaurant also has a small gift shop. It's popular with Americans, which indicates that the spice levels are moderate, but generally, Nepali food isn't overly spicy. Overall, a wonderful experience!"

"We were there for lunch a couple days ago and were so impressed with the atmosphere, food, and service. Our server was constantly checking in on us and helping us out with any questions. They gave us a free appetizer, ginger lemonade, and kheer. Their samosas were to die for, and probably some of the best we’ve ever had. If you are looking for an amazing Indian food experience in Ventura, be sure to visit The Taj Cafe!"
