"Terrible experience – simply dreadful. Since moving to Southeast Michigan, I’ve been on the lookout for authentic Thai food, and when I saw the rating for Thai Spoon, I hoped I’d found it. Sadly, it missed the mark. The restaurant feels like a small, rundown spot, and it was freezing inside—the thermostat read 59°F. Seriously? When it’s 38°F outside, you should have the heat on! We ordered five items at the counter, paying just under $30. The food was ready quickly, in under 10 minutes. But the food itself was disappointing. The Tom Yum soup with chicken had no vegetables and, although the broth had some flavor, the soup was served cold. Not surprising given how cold the restaurant was. The basil stir fry contained hardly any basil and was overly salty, plus it was swimming in liquid that even the side of al dente rice couldn’t absorb. The Thai salad was just chopped veggies with tofu that looked like it had been fried the day before. No dressing either, even though the menu said it came with peanut sauce. When I asked for the sauce, they gave me a thick, dark brown paste that didn’t taste like peanuts at all and was hard to mix into the salad. Very disappointing. The shrimp fresh rolls were okay with their sweet vinegar dipping sauce but nothing memorable. The only highlight was the Thai iced tea, which was very tasty. Having eaten authentic Thai food in Thailand and found good Thai restaurants in my travels, I can confidently say this place is not one of them. I cannot recommend Thai Spoon and would advise avoiding it altogether."

The lunch service was very fast. I’ll definitely return to try more dishes. The massaman was delicious, and the spice level was perfect—just the right amount of heat.

I ordered the lunch box along with a spring roll that was supposed to be crispy, but it was drenched in too much sauce, which unfortunately seems to be common here. The dish felt more like a curry than a stir-fry.

It is a good place not every dishes are amazing but they are all good. The spice level is fair to intense so be aware. Service is super fast and kind. Portion are generous and the price is fair. Location is extremely clean and this makesfor a simple yet very good experience. The Pad Thai is really delicious.

First time back in over 2 years. I believe the food quality went downhill. (My family used to order a few times for takeout before the pandemic, and we were satisfied. Current review a couple days ago Service was quick, and staff was friendly. Butthe food was way too salty. My brother ordered many variety of dishes for our large group. All were soaking in excessive saucewith each plastic take out tray only about 1/2 to 2/3 full of food. This is one of the worse experience eating Thai food in theAnn Arbor Detroit area. Almost every dish was very salty although we ask for lower sodium if possible. Also not a fan of usingso many disposable plastic containers, plasticware, styrofoam cups, .. whi... View menu
