"I have taken several meat eaters to this restaurant and everyone agrees that Tane (also known as Shizen in SF) is a perfect 10 out of 10. My top picks are the Pacifica and Sunset rolls. The Sweet Potato roll is also delightful and more affordable. I do wish they offered some rotating specials though. It seems like the menu has remained the same for the past five years, including at Shizen, which has been operating for even longer but offers the same dishes under different names."

"I ordered the fried chicken plate, and I'm not sure if coating the chicken in flour before frying is what people typically expect from fried chicken. They attempted an Asian-inspired dish, but it ended up being bland and quite mediocre. The portion included two small pieces of chicken: a small drumstick and another small cut piece. Everything on the plate was overly oily— the rice, roasted carrots, and the spinach salad were all drenched in grease and lacked any vibrant flavors. Overall, it felt like a simple assortment of cooked ingredients rather than a well-executed dish."

"I absolutely love Dream Fluff Donuts! I find it a bit concerning when people mention cleanliness and ambiance, as it does have a slightly shady vibe, but honestly, I've seen much worse in the Bay Area. There's also a charming vintage feel to the place. Regardless, their donuts are top-notch and they offer a fantastic selection. My personal favorite is the glazed old-fashioned. The staff at the checkout are welcoming and friendly, and the store itself is quite spacious. This is definitely my go-to donut shop whenever I need a treat, and I highly recommend you give it a try!"

"Warning: If you're looking for American style pizza, this is not the place for you. This modest spot serves FOCACCIA with a large variety of toppings and is as authentic as it gets outside of Italy. The owner uses super fresh vegetables and meats, and uses recipes from his upbringing in northern Italy. The flavors are delicate and wonderful. AND they have that iconic street food found in Italy and South France a GF flatbread either called Socca or Farinata. It's made from chickpea flour and olive oil. It is a great snack made without any wheat, and full of protein."

"This is one of my favorite lunch spots. Their operating hours are somewhat limited and mostly during the work week, but the best things often come to an end quickly. They serve super fresh, healthy Mediterranean-style food with a California twist. Every item on the menu is outstanding. Who would have thought broccoli could be so delicious? Who would have thought a red cabbage slaw could steal the show? Who would have thought a boiled egg could taste like custard? I wasn't a fan of tabbouleh before trying it here, but FAVA's version is amazing. Eating here makes me feel better, both physically and mentally, for the rest of the day. Their commitment to using fresh and healthy ingredients really shines through in the dining experience. Wholesome is the perfect word to describe it. Be sure to try the soup, the salad, and especially the mango lassi. The desserts are simple but delightful. Every penny spent here is well worth it. This is a takeout-only establishment with no seating. If you prefer to dine in the area, you can head to Sunnyside Cafe or Saul's for open tables, or relax at the free public patio at Saul's, or find a spot at the tables near Peet's. I've never seen anyone get in trouble for doing this."

"We are constantly in search of the blissful experience of perfect foods in this case it is the magnificent croissant! Having seen many of the Bay areas top rated spots I must say why wait in line, why be restricted on what you can purchase, why be directed what to do by a host that should be a prison guard! This is a true hidden gem. I look for an overall experience, the host must master hospitality, have a unique cool spot that creates a certain ambiance and they must be dedicated to their craft. Cafe Belmo is all that and more. I truly thank them for delivering one of the best bakery experiences anywhere. Thank you!!!"

"Currently Closed: There's a sign on the door indicating that the restaurant is temporarily closed, with no additional information provided. The sign has been posted for at least a week. Under new ownership since the end of January 2023, I tried Mary's Special with brown rice. The chicken was just as delicious as before, which made me very happy! The shrimp were nearly as good, but it seemed to lack a certain something—maybe just a little less flavor than I remembered. Don’t get me wrong, it was still good enough that I would order it again. However, the fried veggie egg roll was too sweet for my taste, so I probably won’t order that again. I'll give it another shot next time I'm there. The interior of the restaurant has been updated and looks beautiful, and they now accept credit cards, which is a plus. There's no outdoor seating and no one was wearing masks. They offer green tea and water with or without ice. I will definitely return! Despite the ownership change, the food remains as delicious as ever—it's still one of my favorite fast, affordable restaurants. I’m glad they’re open again. Just a heads-up: if you order takeout, it's a good idea to double-check your order, as they sometimes get a few things wrong. I’m not sure if it's due to communication issues, the ordering process, or something else, but I recommend repeating your order before paying in cash. There were at least one or two tables available for anyone wanting to eat there, although the table right at the entrance was already occupied. If they were closer, I’d visit at least once a week! Definitely give their food a try!"

"The fresh pasta with sugo (Mezze Maniche) is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. We enjoyed the salad (Castelfranco) with the nectarines, creamy dressing, and Parmesan but it needed something more acidic. The drinks were fantastic, especially my Paper Plane. Service was attentive in the most unassuming but professional way. Relaxed and pleasant atmosphere but . Worth it."

We were a party of I was disappointed that our waiter (who complained about the number of tables he had to serve) was grouchy and not able to fulfill some of our requests. It was my birthday and this year there were no "happy birthdays" on the table; did you decide not to do that anymore? I asked for a champagne cocktail with extra bitters. It was exactly the same color as a friend's who did not want extra bitters. Then someone took it away and I saw that it sat beside a plastic dirty-dish container for a long while until I asked again. It came back just slightly pinker and I gave up on asking for more bitters. We had wanted the "Bites" and "Appetizers" to arrive with our drinks but they came much later. The dessert that another friend and I shared came with two plates (which was good) but no knife to cut it. I managed with a fork rather than bother the waiter any further. Clearly the waiter was harried but it made my birthday occasion significantly less delightful than I've come to expect from Rivoli. The noise level has never been an issue before but it was on Sunday night pm reservation) . None of this will stop me returning just saying it wasn't up to your usual standards. Lindy Sinclair"

I could sense some amount of rudeness while reserving the table, but decided to give it a shot anyway.When we reached, we had asked for a different table than what we were offered, and the response we got was “Take it or leave it”. We were shocked. We had valid reasons for our request.a. There were insects on the table we were offered.b. It was right next to the restroomc. The “meat cutting” room was literally next to us (no doubt there were insects on our table!)It was not about the fact that we were not offered the table of our choice, it was how the server reacted to us. After looking at the shock on our face, she did offer us a different table, but even after that, it wasn’t a pleasant experience overall.Food was average overall, but given the experience we had, I wouldn’t recommend this place."

Ajanta has been in Solano for decades and will be there as a fixture in the neighborhood"

It features many dishes with mock meats but also has a lengthy menu of real seafood dishes. Portions are huge, and zucchini is a favorite filler--and good for you. Vegetarian items include vegi-pork and vegi-chicken with spicy garlic sauce, sweet-and-sour fried tofu, steamed taro buns, scallion pancakes, and orange chicken. My personal favorites are sweet-and-sour pork, and eggplant and tofu with spicy garlic sauce. The bargain 6.99 lunch special includes a bowl of hot and sour soup, a spring roll, and brown rice. Ask for the good chili sauce, which they keep in the back."

"This is our first time in this restaurant. My found this restaurant in the Marina not too far from home that is an hour a way. We had a reservation and got there early . They weren’t busy and we got greeted nicely and seated right away. We ordered our food and ordered coffee and tea. My husband asked for cream and sugar for his coffee and I asked for honey for my hot tea. I got my tea first and as for honey. Than later my husband got his coffee without cream and sugar, we told the waiter that i was still waiting for the honey for my tea and reminded the waiter for the cream and sugar. After waiting for a while we got our food and still no cream, sugar and honey. While eating our food my husbands coffee was getting cold. I asked the waitress who was delivering water to our next table for the cream, sugar and honey, this was my 3rd request. I finished 2 or 3 cups of my tea without the honey, I was tired of waiting. When we received the cream,sugar and honey, I asked my husband if he wanted another cup of coffee that is hot? He said “no” because we might have wait another 1/2 hour for it. Not going back to this place. I’m not one to complain but they didn’t even come bye to ask how was everything?"

And the menu has something for everyone. I prefer a very basic burger, without even cheese. Here you can choose your type of flame-broiled patty--Niman Ranch ground beef, chicken, turkey, salmon, vegetarian--and you can make it simple or complex. Among the more than 20 specialty versions is a Voodoo Burger stuffed with provolone and blue cheese, bacon, and mushrooms sautéed in spicy voodoo sauce. And these burgers are BIG. An assortment of fries includes a good-for-you sweet potato version, and you can order up a float or milkshake that let’s you have dessert with your meal--the blackberry-chocolate is superb, and the Turkish coffee is on my to-do list. All this, plus hot dogs, salads and sandwiches, too."

"5 out of 10 Thai food, and Thai food is hard to mess up. There must have been something going on in the kitchen that day because mid way through our meal we got the strongest burnt scent coming from it. We quickly paid the bill, held our breath and headed out. Smelled toxic, like burnt plastic.The Pad Thai tasted caramelized to us, browned in flavor. Weird. I 'd usually expect a sweet but brighter, tamarind note in my Pad Thai. Also, no peanuts in there either. Only three prawns, which tasted amazing, which had to be split unevenly between me and my partner.We also got a special, the Duck Salad, and while the duck was so perfectly cooked, the salad dressing was too salty. And I 'm a salt fiend! I normally eat food with too much salt, so it must have been seriously salty. I think the dressing would have benefitted from some lime and more fish sauce, but seeing how salty it was already, maybe that fish sauce would have been the nail on the coffin. Normally Thai dressing requires some of that briney fishy taste, which I love and did not find here. Not sure what happened.We also got an eggplant and beef stir fry, which was extremely watery. The sauce was practically liquid, no sticky thick consistency. The eggplant was undercooked, raw in the center, and completely unsalted. The beef that came in this dish was thin, overcooked and chewy.I really do think there must have been something going on behind the scenes, because the reviews for this place are normally good. Then again, the entire clientele that night was composed of white folks in their 60s, so perhaps this is the kind of Thai that fulfills their palette. Me and my Cambodian boyfriend did not enjoy this place and cringed when we had to pay for something we would rather have skipped. Bummer. Maybe it was just a bad day."

"Food was amazing and service was speedy but not pushy. Our waitress was so nice and funny. The place itself was cute and cozy with only about 10 tables in the whole restaurant and a sushi bar area. Overall it was some of the best sushi my boyfriend and I have had and we were in and out in about 20 minutes. Ignore all the reviews about tips because it was never pushed upon us to tip but the receipt did show options between 18%-30% tip. Yes tip is voluntary but if you’re eating out, you should always tip for the sake of the waitress."
