"I don't know how this review slipped my mind. We came here for a very special occasion in August for my wedding night dinner with my newly married husband. This experience was beyond incredible. Not just because of the occasion but because of the remarkable food and service. We made our reservation in advance and we're aware it was cutting close to their closing time but the staff was very accommodating and we never felt rushed. The restaurant has a very cozy feel and I'm sure a beautiful view in the three story building during daytime. Located directly on the Main Street in Damariscotta near the River. For food we couldn't have asked for a more amazing experience. They accommodated my husbands allergies and he was able to get a bowl of french onion soup on this chilly night. They topped it with gluten free bread just for him. He also had a perfectly baked fish rice and veggies. I splurged on our wedding night and got the Broiled Seafood Plate. Every bite was memorable!! It comes with a taste of everything seafood including haddock, scallops, wild caught petit shrimp, a lobster cake, rice pilaf and mixed veggies. When in Maine... right?! We both loved our food so much. For drinks we both ordered a cocktail and enjoyed them throughly. We were also gifted two glasses of champagne by two women to celebrate our marriage(our attire gave it away). As if the experience wasn't lovely enough the restaurant gave us a dessert to go. There was no room after all the amazing food. I enjoyed the blueberry cheesecake on our honeymoon. Overall excellent experience and I would highly suggest stopping here for a special occasion or any occasion at all because it's that good."

"Lucky Fortune is a casual Chinese Restaurant that within its unassuming atmosphere you will stumble across a place that can rival the quality of a high end restaurant. Of course all of your Chinese American comfort foods are available, but I urge you to step out of your comfort and ask about their authentic Chinese dishes. I've been here several times, but today I was feeling a bit depressed and I was looking for something a bit lighter for comfort on a dreary rainy day.I started off with an amazing pork bun, which I highly recommend, soft bread bun stuffed with rich pork in a brown sauce. Next I had their authentic bok Choi, which comes in a beautiful garlic sauce, cooked to perfection. For my main dishes I ordered the Szechuan Beef combo meal with Fried Rice and Chicken Fingers. Normally I am not huge into Chicken Fingers, often the breading tends to be too thick, but today they seemed to hit just right, especially when dipped in the sauce from the Bok Choi or the Szechuan Beef. The fried rice was a pretty standard pork fried rice, one of my favourite comfort foods, and a nice balance between sticky and too dry, too much of either of those ruins fried rice. Of course the focal point of the dish is the Szechuan Beef, which has that beautiful tingling spice that makes this dish do amazing. The beef was soft and tender, and I love that their version of this classic dish includes vegetables, which was something I was craving today. Then to compliment such a great dish I had it with a hot tea. This was a perfect meal for a cloudy rainy May day in Maine, and it gave me a bit of comfort, like a big edible hug, which I needed so badly today. Then to add on to the comfort of the meal is an amazing staff, creating an environment that is welcoming and feels like having dinner with friends. I highly recommend this amazing place, bring friends and ask about doing a traditional family style Chinese dinner, or ask them about authentic dishes that they have as specials. Vegetarian options: The menu clearly states the vegetarian dishes, and ask the staff if you are unsure or want suggestions. Dietary restrictions: Just ask, and let them know what your needs are. Parking: They have a parking lot with more than enough spaces for the available seating Kid-friendliness: The restaurant is perfect for all ages."

"I used to drive about 40min just to have lunch here. After today, I won 't return. I always ordered the carnitas taco. It looked like the picture on this site. What I got was an unrecognizable mess. The meat was very dry. Perhaps in an effort to mask that the taco was covered in crema, grated cheese and something that had little taste and looked like someone in the kitchen was attempting to create modern artwork with a squeeze bottle. Is there guacamole in the picture above? The tacos didn 't use to have it. Mine had an ice-cream scoop of guac that I didn 't want on each taco. In short, what used to be a simple very tasty dish is now a monstrous creation of someone who clearly believes more is more not less is more. The tacos were horrid. The hot salsa was not even up to the medium heat level you might find at a grocery. Also, beware of the unspecified upcharge. The menu is on written on a board that faces you when you walk in the door. It states a carnitas taco is $4. How does an order of two became $20? An undefined Upcharge caused by everything that 's going on now. When asked, the cashier merely mentions the upcharge because times are what they are. She pointed to the door. Taped to the door, which was open so you walk right past it without noticing the sign, there 's hand written sign saying the menu prices might be higher. Why not change the price on the menu? It 's on a chalkboard. Even after asking I never got an explanation for how a taco goes from $4 to $10. So, if you elect to eat there, beware that the menu has little to no relevance to what you 'll be charged. The food has gone WAY downhill and the pricing has become unknown before you 're rung up. Too bad."
