"This place is off the beaten path, we found them by looking them up on this app. The inside wasn't fancy, just like we like it, we tend to eat at places with good reviews, and laid back environments, this fits the bill. The staff was superbly friendly, even helped my wife with the shirts they had, which by the way, love the logo on the back. Now onto the food, my wife had the spicy lobster roll, and I had the lobster roll with butter. We are no Mainer, but I've had at least 20 lobster rolls in the last 5 years, and these are by far the best. Thank you to the team at the Lobster Haul for not treating us like some kind of tourist, even though we are from Texas. When we come back to visit again, we will definitely make a trip to them."

"The Shuck Shack (aka Shuck Station Raw Bar) is in an old gas station on Main Street. We went on the recommendation of our Bed and Breakfast, and we were not disappointed. We got a sampling tray of oysters, which allowed us to try the various types of oyster from the area. It was great to compare the salinity, sweetness, and flavor of the various oysters. We also enjoyed a nice rich clam chowder, which went down well on a cool and blustery afternoon. We met several local families at the Shuck Shack who were celebrating life events, and they all agreed: get to The Shuck Shack early, it gets packed. Parking is convenient, service is excellent, the facilities are clean. Know that you'll be dining outdoors. A great experience!"

"I don't know how this review slipped my mind. We came here for a very special occasion in August for my wedding night dinner with my newly married husband. This experience was beyond incredible. Not just because of the occasion but because of the remarkable food and service. We made our reservation in advance and we're aware it was cutting close to their closing time but the staff was very accommodating and we never felt rushed. The restaurant has a very cozy feel and I'm sure a beautiful view in the three story building during daytime. Located directly on the Main Street in Damariscotta near the River. For food we couldn't have asked for a more amazing experience. They accommodated my husbands allergies and he was able to get a bowl of french onion soup on this chilly night. They topped it with gluten free bread just for him. He also had a perfectly baked fish rice and veggies. I splurged on our wedding night and got the Broiled Seafood Plate. Every bite was memorable!! It comes with a taste of everything seafood including haddock, scallops, wild caught petit shrimp, a lobster cake, rice pilaf and mixed veggies. When in Maine... right?! We both loved our food so much. For drinks we both ordered a cocktail and enjoyed them throughly. We were also gifted two glasses of champagne by two women to celebrate our marriage(our attire gave it away). As if the experience wasn't lovely enough the restaurant gave us a dessert to go. There was no room after all the amazing food. I enjoyed the blueberry cheesecake on our honeymoon. Overall excellent experience and I would highly suggest stopping here for a special occasion or any occasion at all because it's that good."

"The River House is consistently satisfying. I occasionally find their menu to be uninspiring, but all of the dishes are well-suited for their mission and quite tasty. The venue is charming, with cozy intimate spaces and tables that give a peek into the bustling kitchen, which I always enjoy. The service is excellent as well. Like many good restaurants in Maine, the prices are on the high side. However, considering their limited operating season, it's understandable. A meal for myself and three guests, along with a bottle of wine and a few drinks, cost $450. Despite the cost, I felt the experience was worth it. Dining in Maine can be pricey, but make a reservation and treat someone special to a meal at The River House. They will appreciate the gesture, and you will too."

"Today we introduced a Costa Rican guest to this renowned ice cream parlor which I've been visiting since my childhood. The server patiently explained more than once all the flavors as I translated the ingredients into Spanish. She kindly offered my guest a sample of Hocus Pocus. At my request, she retained our order in memory until we had a chance to sit down and enjoy our ice cream at leisure. We were touched by her dedication to making sure we were taken care of and to be certain, her excellent customer service will make the name of Roundtop Ice Cream more famous (in Costa Rica)! My guest also spoke highly of another young man who put to use his four years of Spanish at the register when she went back to buy a game of Jacks!"
